Adamkevich reaction

Adamkevich reaction (Austrian pathologist of A. Adamkiewicz, 1850-1921; synonym: Adamkevicha-Gopkinsa-Kolya reaction; G. Hopkins, 1861-1947, English biochemist; L. Cole, 1903, the French pathologist) – qualitative staining reaction on triptofansoderzhashchy proteins and tryptophane which is based on violet-blue coloring of their solutions after addition concentrated sulfuric and glyoxylic acids.
