Addisonova disease

Addisonova disease (morbus Addisoni; English doctor of Th. Addison, 1793-1860; synonym: a bronzed disease, Addison a disease, insufficiency of bark of adrenal glands chronic) – the endocrine disease caused by bilateral defeat of bark of adrenal glands with switching off or reduction of production of its hormones. It is characterized by arterial hypotension, emaciation, a hyperpegmentation of mucous membranes and skin and disturbances of a water salt metabolism.
