Tympanic membrane

Tympanic membrane (membrana tympani – definition in system of anatomic terms: PNA (The anatomic nomenclature Parisian), BNA (The anatomic nomenclature Basel), JNA (The anatomic nomenclature Yenskaya), LNH (The Leningrad histologic nomenclature)) – the membrane from fibrous fabric placed in an aperture between a drum tympanic cavity and outside acoustical pass, covered from the outer side with thin skin, and with internal – a mucous membrane of a drum cavity; serves for transfer of air fluctuations to system of acoustical stones.
