Blepharitis

Blepharitis (blepharitis; Greek blepharon – an eyelid + lat. it (словообраз. a suffix) – inflammatory process) – an inflammation of edges a century.

Types of a blepharitis:

  • Angular (angularis) – at which the inflammatory phenomena in the field of corners of eyes prevail;
  • Meibomian (meibomiana; anatomic outdated glandulae Meibomi – gland meybomiyeva) – caused by hypersecretion of glands of a cartilage of a century at insufficient removal of a secret;
  • Scaly (squamosa; synonym: a blepharitis simple) – the century differing in a thickening and a hyperemia of edge with formation of scales of epidermis and a desquamated epithelium of the sebaceous glands which are densely attached at the basis of eyelashes to skin;
  • Ulcer (ulcerosa) – the century differing in formation of ulcers on edge and a purulent inflammation of hair sacks of eyelashes.
