Tinidazolum
Application instruction:
Tinidazolum – medicine with antibacterial and antiprotozoan action.
Structure of Tinidazolum and form of release
Tinidazolum is released in the form of round, biconvex tablets, film coated white color. One tablet contains active component – Tinidazolum of 500 mg. 
Additional components: the purified talc, corn starch, lactose, Opadry white 04B 58909, methylhydroxybenzoate, magnesium stearate, anhydrous colloid silicon.
In packaging on 4 tablets.
Analogs of Tinidazolum are the following medicines: Tiniba, Pilobakt, Fazizhin, Tricolamum, Tridazol, Trinigin, Tinisan, Tricanixum, Torres, Tinogin, Tinimed, Ametin.
Pharmacological action
According to the instruction Tinidazolum is antiprotozoan drug with antibacterial action. The mechanism of action is caused by damage of structure of DNA and oppression of synthesis of activators.
Use of Tinidazolum is active concerning Lamblia intestinalis, Entamoeba histolytica, Trichomonas vaginalis. Has bactericidal effect concerning the following anaerobic bacteria: Veillonella spp., Peptococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Peptostreptococcus spp., Bacteroides spp., Fusobacterium spp., Eubacterium spp.
Indications to use of Tinidazolum
According to the instruction Tinidazolum is appointed in the following cases:
- the mixed aerobic-anaerobic infections (in combination with an antibioticotherapia);
- lambliasis;
- Helicobacter pylori eradikation (in combination with an antibioticotherapia and drugs of bismuth);
- the infections caused by anaerobic bacteria;
- amebiasis (including hepatic form);
- trichomoniasis.
According to reviews Tinidazolum is effective at prevention of postoperative mephitic gangrenes.
Contraindications
In the instruction to Tinidazolum the following contraindications are specified:
- first trimester of pregnancy;
- hypersensitivity;
- breastfeeding;
- hemopoiesis disturbances;
- organic diseases of the central nervous system.
Route of administration of Tinidazolum and mode of dosing
According to the instruction Tinidazolum is intended for intake.
As a rule, to adult patients appoint drug or an analog of Tinidazolum in a dosage of 1,5-2 g a day, to children – 50-75 mg to body weight kg a day. Duration of treatment averages from one to ten days.
Side effects
According to reviews Tinidazolum can cause the following by-effects from various systems of an organism:
- skin itch, rash, small tortoiseshell, Quincke's disease;
- dizziness, headache, peripheral neuropathy, lack of coordination of movements, increased fatigue, dysarthtia;
- dryness of a mucous membrane of an oral cavity, diarrhea, vomiting, metal smack in a mouth, anorexia, nausea;
- tranzitorny leukopenia.

At simultaneous use of drug or an analog of Tinidazolum with ethanol there is a probability of development of disulfiramopodobny effect.
Use of Tinidazolum during pregnancy and breastfeeding
In the first trimester of pregnancy Tinidazolum is contraindicated. In the second and third trimester it is necessary to appoint drug only at a ratio of advantage and risk for mother and a fruit.
Use of drug in the period of a lactation demands the breastfeeding termination.
