Amizon - antiviral, febrifugal and antiinflammatory drug which suppresses influenza viruses of type A.

Form of release and structure

Amizon is issued in the form of tablets (on 250 mg) in blister strip packagings on 10 or 20 pieces. One cardboard pack contains 1 packaging.

Besides, Amizon children's in the form of tablets on 0,125 g which are appointed to children aged from 6 up to 12 years is issued. Also there is a drug for children in the form of syrup (Amizonchik) which is intended to children since 3 years for treatment of a SARS and flu.

As active ingredient as a part of drug methylbenzylcarboamidopyridinium iodide acts.

Indications to use

According to the instruction, Amizon is applied at:

• Respiratory viral infections;
• Flu;

Contraindications

According to the instruction, Amizon is contraindicated in the following cases:

• At hypersensitivity to drug components, including to iodine;
• In the first trimester of pregnancy;
• At severe forms of damages of a liver and kidneys;
• To children under 6 years.

Route of administration and dosage

It is necessary to accept drug inside after food, without crushing and without chewing. The maximum single dose should not exceed 1 g, and daily – 2 g.

Usually the course of treatment of adults if there are no other recommendations, lasts 5-7 days according to the following scheme: 1-2 tablets (1 tablet corresponds to 0,25 g) Amizona from 2 to 4 times a day.

For children aged from 6 up to 12 years the same duration of treatment, as well as for adults, with the reduced dosage is provided: on 1/2 tablets 2-3 times a day.
