Amoksikar

Amoksikar – antibacterial drug from group of penicillin which suppresses staphylococcus, streptococci, causative agents of gonorrhea, salmonellosis, meningitis, purulent sepsis, and also colibacillus, a shigella and a klebsiyella.

Form of release and structure

Amoksikar produce in the form of capsules on 250 and 500 mg and granulate for preparation of oral suspension on 125 and 250 mg / 5 ml.

Active ingredient - amoxicillin.

According to the instruction, Amoksikar appoint at various bacterial infections among which:

Contraindications

According to the instruction, Amoksikar is contraindicated at an infectious mononucleosis, hypersensitivity to components of drug, a fenilketonuriya, jaundice and the abnormal liver functions caused in the past by amoxicillin reception.

Route of administration and dosage

Amoksikar is intended for intake.

To adults, children 10 years, and also to children whose body weight more than 40 kg, appoint drug 2 times a day on 500 mg or 3 times a day on 250 mg are more senior.

For treatment of heavy infections and respiratory infections appoint 875 mg of drug 2 times a day or 500 mg 3 times a day.

Amoksikar to children up to 10 years appoint in the form of suspension. For its preparation it is possible to use boiled water. The dosage depends on age:

• For children 2 years are younger appoint drug in 3 receptions in a dose of 20 mg/kg/days. At the heavy course of an infection in 3 receptions on 40 mg/kg/days;
• For children at the age of 3-5 years appoint drug in 3 receptions on 125 mg;
• For children at the age of 5-10 years appoint drug in 3 receptions on 250 mg.

The most admissible dose of active ingredient of Amoksikar - amoxicillin for adults and children after 10 years – 6 g/days, for children up to 10 years – 45 mg/kg/days.

Treatment by drug lasts usually up to 2 weeks, and at average acute otitis – no more than 10 days.

At a chronic renal failure it is necessary to adjust a means dosage.

To patients who are on a hemodialysis drug is appointed in a dosage of 250 or 500 mg. One dose of an antibiotic is given at the beginning of the procedure and one more after its termination.

Side effects

Amoksikar's use can cause:

• Eosinophilia;
• Multiformny exudative erythema;

• Increase in activity of enzymes of a liver.

Against the background of Amoksikar's use the leukopenia, anemia, a Werlhof's disease, tachycardia and a vulval candidiasis can also develop.

At overdose of drug there is nausea, vomiting, the water and electrolytic balance is broken.

Special instructions

With care drug is appointed to the feeding and pregnant women, patients having a liver failure, a serious illness of a GIT, a chronic renal failure at hay fever and a small tortoiseshell.

After disappearance of clinical signs of a disease it is necessary to continue Amoksikar's use within 2-3 days.
