Pharmacological action

Аскофен-АРПИ

Askofen is the combined drug which has soothing and febrifugal effect.

About 0,2 g of acetylsalicylic acid and acetphenetidiene, and also 0,04 g of caffeine are a part of one tablet of Askofen. Acetylsalicylic acid suppresses synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for emergence of pains and hypostases in the place of an inflammation, oppresses a thrombogenesis and aggregation of thrombocytes. Thanks to this component, Askofen's use allows to weaken the pain in particular caused by processes of inflammatory character, to improve microcirculation in the inflammation center.

Acetphenetidiene increases febrifugal and soothing properties of acetylsalicylic acid. The caffeine which is Askofen's part influences reflex irritability of a spinal cord, excites the vasomotor and respiratory centers, reduces aggregation of thrombocytes and expands blood vessels. Also caffeine allows to increase physical and intellectual effeciency, to reduce feeling of fatigue and drowsiness, to normalize a tone of vessels of a brain and to accelerate a blood stream.

In Askofena P acetphenetidiene is replaced with paracetamol (0,2 g), as caused the antiinflammatory, febrifugal and anesthetizing properties of this drug. Advantage of this component is that probability of formation of a methemoglobin at its use minimum.

Indications to Askofen's use

This drug is recommended at a headache, catarrhal diseases, neuralgia. It should be noted that Askofen's use P and Askofena L even more often replace Askofen's use that is caused by bigger safety of paracetamol in comparison with acetphenetidiene, and also to more effective combination of the components which are a part of these drugs.

Askofen P is appointed at:

moderately expressed pain syndrome (dentagra, migraine, headache, arthralgia, neuralgia, painful periods);
the feverish states caused by rheumatic and catarrhal diseases.

Application instruction of Askofen

Аскофен П According to the instruction, Askofen is appointed on 1 tablet 2-3 times a day. Askofen P is recommended in the dose equal to 1-2 tablets which it is necessary to accept three times a day after food, accompanying administration of drug with plentiful drink of liquid. The course of treatment Askofen P usually lasts 5-7 days. For removal of acute pain take once 2 pill.

Side effects

Askofen and Askofen's use P can lead to such undesirable effects as allergic reactions, dispeptic frustration, an exacerbation of bronchial asthma, disturbance of functions of a liver and kidneys, damages of a stomach and a duodenum of ulcer and hemorrhagic character.

Contraindications to Askofen's use

In the instruction to Askofen P diseases at which use of this drug can do harm to an organism are specified:

gastrointestinal bleedings;
peptic ulcer of a stomach and duodenum;
renal liver failure;
hypocoagulation;
deficit glyukozo-6-fosfatdegidrogenazy;
portal hypertensia.

Pregnancy, feeding by a breast and hypersensitivity to Askofen and Askofen's components P are causes of failure from reception of these drugs.

Additional information

The period of validity of Askofen makes 4 years, Askofen P - 3 years. These drugs should be stored in the dry and dark place, at a temperature which is not exceeding ^250C.
