The American doctor William Hay was one of founders of the separate food so popular today. Doctor Hay developed the diet at the beginning of the 20th century when he itself suffered from obesity and a serious illness of kidneys. As a result he managed to restore health and to lose weight by 23 kg. Later it described the opening in several books, having received a great number of followers around the world.

System essence in the following: all products are divided by the doctor on starchy, proteinaceous and neutral.

  • starchy: bread, macaroni and other products from flour, grain (except buckwheat), potatoes, sugar and sweets, honey, tea;
  • proteinaceous: meat, fish, bird, offal, eggs, bean, mushrooms, nuts, sunflower sunflower seeds;
  • neutral: dairy and fermented milk products, fresh fruit and vegetables, berries, dried fruits, buckwheat, vegetable oil and animal fat.

Starchy and proteinaceous products should be used separately, and neutral it is possible to combine in one meal both with those, and with others.

Rules of a diet of doctor Hay:

  1. carbohydrates are forbidden to be combined with proteins and acid fruit.
  2. the products increasing acidity of blood (vegetables, milk, fruit except a citrus) have to exceed a share of the products increasing acidity of a gastric juice (carbohydrates, proteins, nuts and a citrus), i.e. a food basis four times – neutral group of products, preferential fresh fruit and vegetables;
  3. 3 rub meal in bucketed day 4-5 hours between them;
  4. breakfast – products from group neutral, a lunch – proteinaceous products in combination with vegetables and fruit, a dinner – starchy products with vegetables and fruit.

It is possible to keep to a diet so much how many it is required for normalization of weight, the minimum term for achievement of effect – 2 weeks. After achievement of optimum weight it is possible to expand gradually the list of products, but to keep the principle of their separate use, and to adhere to such power supply system as much as long.

Advantages

The diet of doctor Hay allows without risk for health to get rid of 1,5-2 kg a week, at the same time it is necessary to consider that in the beginning the plumb occurs quicker, and in process of normalization of weight its speed is slowed down. Such speed can seem slow, but actually it is optimum from the point of view of physiology.

William Hay's system is balanced on main types of products, does not exclude any group and therefore provides requirements of an organism and is easily transferred.

Shortcomings and contraindications

The diet of doctor Hay can be under construction taking into account specific features of an organism therefore has practically no contraindications, except for diseases of the alimentary system – in this case a large number of crude vegetable food is not recommended.

What products are resolved?

  • proteinaceous: meat, bird, fish, offal, eggs, nuts, bean;
  • starchy: bread from coarse flour, pasta from firm grades of wheat, grain (except semolina), potatoes;
  • neutral: the crude vegetable oils, butter, cheese with fat content it is not higher than 45%, sour cream, cottage cheese, cream, natural yogurt, fresh vegetables, greens, fruit.

What products are prohibited?

  • sugar;
  • salt;
  • confectionery;
  • products from white flour;
  • sausages, sausages;
  • canned food, sauces, nutritional supplements;
  • margarine;
  • the fat-free yogurt;
  • carbonated drinks.

Menu

The approximate menu of a diet of doctor Hay for 14 days:

Day 1

Breakfast: yogurt with fresh strawberry.

Lunch: the pork baked with a parsnip, broccoli and carrots, any soft fruit (a peach, an apricot).

Dinner: potatoes "in a uniform", sweet pepper and corn, banana with honey and whipped cream.

Day 2

Breakfast: dates, banana, a bread piece with nut oil.

Lunch: fresh vegetables salad, chicken fillet on a grill, a pear.

Dinner: vegetable cabbage salad, swede and carrots, orange and pineapple.

Day 3

Breakfast: yogurt with a peach and nuts.

Lunch: salad from peas, cabbage and carrots, the cod baked with cheese, apple, a peach.

Dinner: sheet salad, stewed vegetables or vegetable pie, grapes.

Day 4

Breakfast: piece of a melon.

Lunch: the chicken baked with broccoli, a parsnip and carrots, a kiwi, orange.

Dinner: a rye small loaf with nut oil, salad from tomatoes and avocado, banana.

Day 5

Breakfast: yogurt with a nectarine.

Lunch: beet with onions and a garden cress, an omelet with mushrooms and cheese, carrots, peas, tomatoes, orange.

Dinner: a green salad, potatoes "in a uniform" with avocado, sweet pepper, onions, corn.

Day 6

Breakfast: crushed wheat with soy milk, raisin.

Lunch: the chicken baked with mushrooms, haricot, cabbage and carrots, mango salad.

Dinner: a big portion of salad from fresh and dried fruit with sunflower seeds of a sunflower and hazelnuts.

Day 7

Breakfast: grapefruit and orange, raisin, nuts.

Lunch: chopped mutton with broccoli, peas and carrots, raspberry with cream.

Dinner: pita with salad, vegetable soup, a pear.

Day 8

Breakfast: toast, bananas puree.

Lunch: cauliflower casserole with cheese, egg-pashot, sweet corn, carrots, a tomato, orange, raisin.

Dinner: a cucumber and tomato with a garden cress, potatoes "in a uniform", paprika, sweet corn.

Breakfast: muesli with banana and soy milk.

Lunch: vegetable salad, roast from a turkey, salad from a kiwi and orange.

Dinner: vegetable salad, vegetable soup, dates.

Day 10

Breakfast: yogurt with apple and almonds.

Lunch: a Brussels sprout, carrots, the beef baked with tomatoes and mushrooms, fruit juice and pineapple jelly.

Dinner: corn in ears with carrots, onions, beet and lettuce leaves salad, sweet fruit.

Day 11

Breakfast: cottage cheese with sour cream, banana.

Lunch: corn, sweet pepper and carrots salad, fried eggs with cheese, pear.

Dinner: vegetable salad, brown rice, dates.

Day 12

Breakfast: bananas with chopped nuts and whipped cream.

Lunch: a cauliflower, peas, carrots salad, the baked cod, orange.

Dinner: potatoes "in a uniform", vegetables baked with sesame, a pear.

Day 13

Breakfast: porridge, raisin.

Lunch: carrots, broccoli, a chop from mutton with tomatoes and mushrooms, oranges and pineapples salad.

Dinner: green salad, lentil soup, piece of bread, avocado.

Day 14

Breakfast: bilberry, apple, yogurt.

Lunch: a green salad, cucumbers, tomatoes, a beefsteak with mushrooms, a kiwi with baked apple and cream.

Dinner: a sandwich with banana, raisin, grapes.
