As a rule, the hirudotherapist appoints course treatment prior to 10 sessions, each of which proceeds not less than an hour. The bloodsuckers applied at treatment are used only once that excludes a possibility of infection of other patients.

Contraindications to a girudoterapiya

Before an initiation of treatment the hirudotherapist has to study medical indications of each patient as there is a number of diseases, at which treatment by bloodsuckers contraindicated. Among them:

Hemophilia;
Hemorrhagic diathesis;
Chronic anemia.

At all safety of this treatment, hirudotherapists do not recommend to carry out similar therapy at pregnancy, and also against the background of hypotonia and intolerance of components of saliva of a bloodsucker.
