Structure and form of release of Elidel

According to the instruction Elidel is issued in the form of 1% cream in tubas on 15, 30 and 100 g. Contains in one gram of Elidel 0,01 g of a pimekrolimus – operating cream component. Besides, the following additional ingredients are a part of cream: olein alcohol, stearyl alcohol, пропиленглюколь, triglycerides, monoglycerides, benzyl alcohol, diglycerides, sodium sulfate, sodium hydroxide, citric acid, the purified water tsetostearit.

Pharmacological action

Cream has ability to selectively suppress synthesis and release from fabrics of those components which are the main intermediaries of inflammatory reactions - mediators of mast cells and T lymphocytes.

Indications to Elidel's use

According to the instruction Elidel or Elidel's analogs it is necessary to use immediately in treatment at once after emergence of the first displays of eczema.

Elidel it is necessary to apply in the morning and in the evening with a thin layer on the struck areas of skin of any parts of a body. After drawing cream needs to be rubbed carefully in skin before full absorption. According to the instruction it is not recommended to apply a bandage cream. During treatment patients should reduce natural or artificial insolation of skin to a minimum.

Elidel apply until eczema symptoms remain. Further cream is recommended to be applied at the first signs of a recurrence of a disease.

Contraindications to Elidel's use

• hypersensitivity to any component of Elidel;
• children's age up to three months;

• pregnancy;
• alcohol intake during therapy;
• lactation period.

Side effect

During Elidel's use sometimes there are following collateral symptoms:

• infections and fungal infections of skin (herpes simplex, contagious mollusk, inflammation of a hair follicle, skin papillomas);
• allergic reactions (Quincke's disease, rash; extremely seldom – an acute anaphylaxis);
• very seldom – the lowered or raised xanthopathy in Elidel site of application;
• aggravation of a basic disease;
• febricula.

Storage conditions

Elidel is recommended to store at a temperature no more than 25 °C.

Period of storage – 2 years. The opened packaging of cream needs to be used within two months.
