Ovidon
Application instruction:
Ovidon – drug with contraceptive, is oestrogenic-gestagennym action.
Form of release and structure
Dosage form of release of Ovidon – a tablet (on 21 pieces in blister strip packagings, on 1 packaging in a cardboard pack).
Active ingredients are a part of 1 tablet:
- Levonorgestrel – 0,25 mg;
- Ethinylestradiol – 0,05 mg.
Indications to use
- Contraception;
- Functional frustration of a menstrual cycle;
- Dysmenorrhea;
- The pain syndrome arising in the middle of a menstrual cycle.
Contraindications
- Diabetes mellitus (dekompensirovanny);
- Diseases of endocrine system, gall bladder, liver;
- Organic heart diseases in a heavy current;
- Disturbances of lipidic exchange;
- The brain diseases caused by pathological changes of cerebral vessels in combination with disturbances of cerebral circulation;
- Arterial hypertension;
- Drepanocytic and/or chronic hemolitic anemia;
- The increased tendency to fibrinferments;
- Convulsive attacks which are caused by disturbances of exchange of calcium in an organism (tetany);
- Malignant tumors;
- Period of pregnancy and lactation;
- Hypersensitivity to drug components.
Route of administration and dosage
Ovidon it is necessary to accept inside.
For protection from pregnancy drug needs to be accepted daily for 21 days, in the evening. It is recommended to begin therapy from 1-5 in the afternoon periods. After the end of reception of tablets from packaging it is necessary to take a break in 7 days then it is necessary to begin reception of tablets from new packaging. During a break there has to come menstrualnopodobny bleeding.
(With the medical purpose) the doctor determines the dosing mode by other indications individually.
Side effects
During therapy by Ovidon development of disturbances in the form of lability of mood, dyspepsia, a mastalgiya, change of a libido and body weight, decrease in tolerance to glucose, bloody allocations from a vagina, headaches, the increased fatigue localized in gastrocnemius muscles of spasms, skin rashes is possible.
Special instructions
Women aged from 35 years at Ovidon's appointment need special attention.
Administration of drug needs to be interrupted in cases of development of the following diseases / states:
- Thrombosis, including thrombosis of vessels of a retina, thrombophlebitis or a thromboembolism;
- Cerebrovascular disturbances;
- Myocardial infarction;
- Deterioration in visual acuity;
- Eyeglobe shift forward (exophthalmos);
- Diplopia;
- Repeated persistent headaches;
- Development of any serious chronic illness;
- Pregnancy.
Ovidon at the prevailing oestrogenic phenotype is most shown.
It is necessary to consider that contraceptive action is weakened in cases when the interval between reception of tablets exceeds 36 hours.
Medicinal interaction
Ovidon's efficiency goes down at the combined use with such medicines as pyrazyl ketone derivatives, streptocides, inductors of a microsomal oxidation (including barbiturates, rifampicin, Phenytoinum), tetracyclines.

To store in the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature of 15-30 °C.
Period of validity – 5 years.
