Regidron
Application instruction:
Regidron – drug for enteral use with disintoxication and rehydration action.
Form of release and structure
Dosage form – powder for preparation of solution for intake: the crystal mass of white color, after dissolution in water – transparent colourless liquid with saltish and sweet taste, inodorous (in the laminated bag from aluminum foil, in a cardboard pack of 4 or 20 bags).
Content of active agents of Regidron in 1 bag / 1000 ml of ready solution:
- Dextrose – 10 g / 55,5 mmol;
- Sodium chloride – 3,5 g / 59,9 mmol;
- Sodium citrate – 2,9 g / 11,2 mmol;
- Potassium chloride – 2,5 g / 33,5 mmol.
Indications to use
- Correction of acidosis, recovery of water and electrolytic balance at acute diarrhea (including at cholera) or the thermal defeat which caused disturbance of water and electrolytic exchange;
- Prevention of disturbance of water and electrolytic balance at the thermal and exercise stresses connected with intensive sweating;
- Peroral rehydration therapy at acute diarrhea with easy or average degree of dehydration.
Contraindications
- Unconsciousness;
- Functional disturbances of kidneys;
- Diabetes mellitus (non-insulin-dependent and insulin-dependent);
- Intestinal impassability;
- Hypersensitivity to drug components.
Route of administration and dosage
Ready solution of Regidron is intended for enteral use, for this purpose in 1000 ml of svezhekipyacheny chilled water it is necessary to dissolve contents of 1 bag of drug.
The recommended dosing:
- Diarrhea: on 50-100 ml of solution it is necessary to drink every 3-5 minutes. When using the nazogastralny probe the procedure lasts for 3-5 hours. At the easy course of a disease the daily dose has to make of calculation for 40-50 ml on 1 kg of weight of the patient, at an average – 80-100 ml on 1 kg;
- Polyuria, thermal spasms, thirst: on 100-150 ml within 30 minutes (500-900 ml), reception should be repeated every 40 minutes before total disappearance of symptoms of a disease;
- Maintenance therapy: on 80-100 ml on 1 kg of weight a day during the entire period of diarrhea, to a complete recovery of water and electrolytic balance.
Side effects
Against the background of Regidron's reception development of allergic reactions is possible.
Special instructions
Loss by the patient more than 10% of body weight at a severe form of dehydration (anury) should be recovered purpose of intravenous administration of drugs for a regidratation with the subsequent use of Regidron.
Without confirmation by laboratory researches of need for additional administration of electrolytes it is not necessary to exceed the recommended dosing mode.
High concentration of solution can cause development of a hypernatremia.
It is impossible to add sugar to solution.
It is possible to feed the patient right after a regidratation. At vomiting solution is accepted 10 minutes later small drinks, slowly.
At dehydration careful control of their state at treatment by drug as dehydration causes disturbance of acid-base, electrolytic or carbohydrate balance is required from patients with a renal failure, a diabetes mellitus and other chronic pathologies.
At emergence of liquid bloody stools, fervescence more than 39 °C, diarrhea durations more than 5 days, the sudden termination of diarrhea and emergence of severe pains, at the termination of release of urine, emergence in the patient of a bradyarthria, bystry fatigue, drowsiness or inability of the patient to answer questions it is necessary to see behind consultation a doctor.
Regidron does not exert impact on ability to control of vehicles and mechanisms.
Medicinal interaction
As solution has alkalescent reaction, Regidron can influence effect of those medicines at which absorption depends on acid-base contents of intestines.
