Vishnevsky anesthesia

Vishnevsky anesthesia (A. V. Vishnevsky, the Soviet surgeon, 1874-1948) – the method of infiltration local anesthesia which is carried out by means of forcing of large volumes of weak solution of novocaine in interfascial spaces with further distribution on them in the form of "creeping infiltrate" that leads to direct contact of the anesthetizing substance with nerve fibrils and receptors in a surgery field and adjacent fabrics, and also to the stratification of fabrics ("hydraulic preparation") facilitating work of the surgeon.
