Application instruction:
Tiberal – the drug possessing anti-protozoan and antimicrobic action.
1 tablet of Tiberal contains 500 mg of an ornidazol – active ingredient of drug.
Pharmacological properties
In the instruction to Tiberal it is reported about the expressed medicinal effect of drug concerning anaerobic cocci and anaerobic bacteria – such as Entamoeba histolytica, Clostridium spp, Bacteroides, Fusobacterium spp and some other.
Absorption of active ingredient after oral administration of Tiberal it is carried out quickly and reaches 90%. The maximum concentration of an ornidazol in plasma is reached 3 hours later after medicine reception. Active agent of Tiberal well gets into liquids and body tissues.
Tiberal is metabolized in a liver, forming hydroxymethyl metabolites - substances, less active concerning anaerobic bacteria, than орнидазол in an invariable look.
The period of removal of Tiberal makes, as a rule, 13 hours. 85% of the dose accepted once are removed in the form of metabolites within 5 days. About 4% of active ingredient are removed through kidneys.
Indications to Tiberal's use
According to reviews Tiberal is effective concerning the urinogenital infections caused by Trihomonas vaginalis, intestinal infections, including, amoebic dysentery, a lambliasis, a bacterial vaginosis. Tiberal's use is reasonable as preventive therapy in gynecology, and also at implementation of operations on a colon.
Contraindications
Tiberal's reception and analogs of drug is not recommended with hypersensitivity to medicine components, diseases of the central nervous system (existence of tumors, cysts, epilepsy), pregnancies in the I trimester, during a lactation. With care the people having a liver failure should perform treatment by Tiberal.
Responses to Tiberal contain information on need of abstention from alcohol during treatment as the combination of these substances is completely not studied.
Side effects of Tiberal

Tiberal's use and dosage

At trichomoniasis as one-time reception three tablets (1,5 g) or 2 tablets on 250 mg 2 times a day within 5 days are appointed. Women are recommended to combine this treatment with candles or intravaginalny tablets.
At amoebic dysentery Tiberal's use is carried out for 3 days. Weight from 12-34 kg assumes administration of drug in a dose of 40 mg of Tiberal on each kilogram, from 35-59 kg - 1,5 g a day; body weight more than 60 kg causes the use of medicine on 2 g every day.
At a lambliasis Tiberal and analogs of drug accept within 1-2 days.
It is not recommended to appoint medicine to children whose weight does not reach 12 kg, because of a big dosage of the active ingredient which is contained in one indivisible tablet.
Tiberal's analogs
Medicine analogs Tiberal are such drugs as Gayro, Dazolik, Lornizol, Ornidazol, Ornisid and some other which action is based on the harmful impact exerted on the genetic device of parasites. Tiberal and his substitutes block division of DNA of microorganisms that leads to their death.
