Тобрекс – antibacterial agent for treatment of infectious diseases of eyes.
Pharmacological action
The antibiotic of aminoglikozidny group – Tobramycinum is a part of drug. The mechanism of its action bactericidal, is connected with blocking of synthesis of protein in a bacterial cell, and in higher concentration permeability of its cytoplasmic membrane is broken.
According to the instruction of Tobreks as the antibiotic of a broad spectrum of activity is capable to struggle with the infections caused both gram-positive (various staphylococcus), and gram-negative flora (these are intestinal, hemophilic and, especially, pyocyanic sticks, proteas, a klebsiyell, a serration and others). Maloaktiven it concerning enterococci, does not act on chlamydias and anaerobic activators at all.
Tobreks's use locally on a surface of a conjunctiva has no systemic action on an organism as it is practically not soaked up from a surface.
Tobreks's analog – Tobreks 2X, except Tobramycinum, contains xanthane gum which allows to maintain longer concentration of an antibiotic on a conjunctiva surface.
Form of release of Tobreks
Тобрекс according to the instruction release in 2 forms: 0,3% eye drops in bottles droppers and an oculentum for a mortgaging for eyelids (1 g of ointment contains 3 g of Tobramycinum).
Indications to Tobreks's use
Drug is shown for treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of eyes and their appendages: conjunctivitis, keratoconjunctivitis, keratitis, blepharitis, entophthalmia, meibomitis (barley). Received good comments of Tobreks at use it in treatment of inflammatory diseases of eyes at children. In particular, it is possible to use Tobreks for newborns, he well copes with an inflammation of a dacryocyst and obstruction of the lacrimonasal channel – a dacryocystitis.
Drug well proved as prophylactic of infectious complications at operations in the eyes.
Contraindications
As well as aminoglikozidny analogs, Tobreks it is not applied in the presence at the patient in the past of hypersensitivity to drug or other antibiotics of this row.
Application instruction of Tobreks
Means is intended for topical administration – on a conjunctiva of eyes and the struck appendages of eyes. Drops dig in on 1 in each eye each 4 hours, in case of acute defeat in the first day each 0,5 – 1 hour is allowed to dig in drug.
The oculentum is put by means of a glass rake for upper eyelids by 2 – 3 times a day. For every century there is enough strip 1,25 cm long. In case of the heavy course of an infection it is possible to increase the frequency of a mortgaging and to do it each 3 – 4 hours before obtaining visible effect, and then reduce a dose. The average course of treatment lasts 7 – 10 days. Тобрекс apply to newborns on 1 drop of 5 times a day not longer than 7 days.
For strengthening of effect at treatment by drops of Tobreks for the night it is possible to put the oculentum of the same name for lengthening of time of contact of medicine with a mucous membrane of eyes.
The contact of drug with soft 
eye lenses is undesirable. Before a medicine instillation in eyes they need to be removed, and again it is possible to put on not earlier than in 30 minutes.
The opened bottle dropper and ointment store in the refrigerator not longer than 1 month.
Side effects
According to Tobreks can give local allergic reactions in the form of burning, hypostasis and reddening a century, excess dacryagogue, it is very rare – хемоз (chemosis), eye pains or an ulceration of a cornea of eyes.
