Urografinum produce in the form of transparent colourless solution for injections 60% or 76%. Active components: амидотризоат sodium and амидотризоат meglumina. Auxiliary components: water for injections, sodium hydroxide, sodium calcium эдетат.

In ampoules on 20 ml. On 5 ampoules in packaging.

Pharmacological action

Urografinum is X-ray contrast agent. Improves picture contrast due to absorption by the iodine which is contained in an amidotrizoata, X-ray.

Indications to use of Urografinum

According to the instruction Urografinum is shown at:

artrografiya;
all types of angiographic researches;
retrograde and intravenous urography;
fistulografiya;
intraoperative holangiografiya;
gisterosalpingografiya;
sialografiya;
endoscopic retrograde holangiopankreatografiya.

Contraindications

Contraindication to Urografinum is:

dekompensirovanny heart failure;
the expressed hyperthyroidism.

At acute pancreatitis carrying out an endoscopic retrograde holangiopankreatografiya is contraindicated.

Gisterosalpingografiya is contraindicated at inflammatory processes in a pelvic cavity and at pregnancy.

Urografinum is contraindicated for a ventrikulografiya, a miyelografiya and a tsisternografiya in connection with possible neurotoxic action.

Training of the patient for the procedure

At urography and an angiography of an abdominal cavity the stomach of the patient is recommended to be cleared carefully for diagnosis simplification. In two days prior to inspection the food capable to cause a meteorism is excluded from a diet of the patient (fresh bread, salads, bean, fruit and crude vegetables). On the eve of inspection the last meal has to be no later than 18 hours. In the evening before going to bed recommend to accept laxative. Small and to babies reception of laxative and big intervals between meals is contraindicated.

By the patient with a diabetes mellitus, a generalized myeloma, a polyuria, a nephropathy, a hyperuricemia, an oliguria, and also to babies and people of old age it is recommended to carry out adequate hydration. Before carrying out a research it is necessary to exclude disturbances of water and electrolytic balance.

Urografinum dosages

Just before Ампулы Урографин the beginning of a research solution of Urografinum, ready for use, needs to be gathered in the syringe. The dosage of Urografinum depends on body weight, age of the patient, a cordial rhythm and the general state.

At a heart or renal failure it is recommended to use lower dosages of Urografinum. For three days after carrying out a research it is necessary to watch a condition of these patients.

Drug rate of administering at an injection, as a rule, makes 20 ml a minute. To patients with heart failure which appointed Urografinum according to the instruction in a dosage of 100 ml and more the recommended duration of introduction makes not less than 30 minutes.

For adults the dosage of 60% of drug makes 50 ml, 76% - 20 ml. If to raise a dosage of 76% of solution to 50 ml, then diagnosis accuracy significantly increases. Owing to special indications also further increase in dosages is possible.

To children owing to the lowered physiological concentration ability still of unripe nephron apply quite high dosages of Urografinum of 76%:

up to one year – 7-10 ml;
from one to two years – 10-12 ml;
from two to six years – 12-15 ml;
from six to twelve years – 15-20 ml;
is more senior than twelve years – a dosage, as at adults.

When performing infusion of Urografinum according to the instruction to children and adults, as a rule, time of introduction should not be less than five and more than ten minutes. Patients with heart failure are recommended to carry out infusion not less than half an hour.

Pictures are recommended to be carried out right after administration of drug.

Side effects

At intravascular use of Urografinum according to the instruction the following by-effects are possible:

Respiratory system: asthma, passing changes of a respiration rate, cough, fluid lungs, apnoea.
Alimentary system: vomiting and nausea, abdominal pains.
Cardiovascular system: change of the ABP, ChSS. Seldom there are dangerous tromboembolic episodes causing a myocardial infarction.
Urinary system: renal failure, renal failure.
Central nervous system: headaches, dizziness, consciousness disturbance, excitement, hearing disorder, sight, tremor and spasms, photophobia, coma, passing blindness, drowsiness.
Dermatological reactions: erythema, itch, rash, face reddening, Lyell's disease, Stephen-Johnson's syndrome.
Allergic reactions: conjunctivitis, rhinitis, skin itch, small tortoiseshell, Quincke's disease.
Local reactions: hypostases, pains, inflammation, vein thromboses, thrombophlebitises, necrosis of fabrics.
Other by-effects: an indisposition, feeling of heat, a syncope, the increased sweating, a fever, change of body temperature.

At introduction to perigastriums by-effects develop seldom, as a rule, several hours later after introduction. There can seldom be necrotic pancreatitis. When carrying out ERHP increase in level of amylase is possible, the risk of development of pancreatitis increases.

Most often, by-effects are expressed in allergic skin reactions.

Use of Urografinum during pregnancy and breastfeeding

During tests of drug teratogenic, mutagen, genotoksichesky and embriotoksichesky action was not revealed. Therefore pregnancy is not a contraindication to Urografinum.

Nevertheless, there are no sufficient proofs of safety of its use during pregnancy. Therefore it is recommended to weigh before use of Urografinum possible risk and advantage for mother and a fruit.

According to the instruction Urografinum in small doses is allocated with breast milk. Therefore there is a small risk of emergence of toxic effects during its use at a lactation.
