Vivitrol

Structure and form of release

In the instruction to Vivitrol it is told that this drug is produced in the form of powder for suspension preparation. The recovered suspension has color, white or white with slightly yellowish shade. Powder is placed in glass bottles on 5 ml in a set with the syringe (5 ml), three needles and solvent. Rolled into one Vivitrola contains 430 mg of naltrexone – the main operating drug component. Solvent represents transparent colourless liquid. The karmelloza of sodium, polysorbate, water for injections and sodium chloride is a part of solvent.

Pharmacological action of Vivitrol

Among them there are so-called opioid receptors (nociceptive, δ-the delta, μ-a mu and κ-a kappa). Opioid receptors regulate pain. At intramuscular introduction Vivitrol collects in muscular tissue. Route of administration and dosage

According to the instruction Vivitrol it is necessary to enter intramusculary in a dose 380 mg once in four weeks. The drug is recommended to be administered in muscles of buttocks. The drug cannot be administered intravenously. At the admission of an injection of the next dose the following introduction has to be made as soon as possible.

Before use packaging with Vivitrol is got from the refrigerator and allow it to heat up to room temperature. Then put on a needle for preparation of suspension the syringe and select 3,4 ml of solvent. Further enter solvent into a bottle with Vivitrol. Contraindications to Vivitrol's use

Vivitrol and Vivitrol's analogs are contraindicated at reception of narcotic analgetics, at the current opioid dependence and hypersensitivity to the operating component of medicine or to any of its components, and also at a positive take of the analysis on presence of opioids at urine. Patients cannot accept Vivitrol in a condition of cancellation of opioids.

Side effect of Vivitrol

At administration of medicine in the place of an injection morbidity, hemorrhages, a swelling, an itch can appear.

Period of validity and storage conditions

Vivitrol store in the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature from 2 °C to 8 °C. A period of storage – 2 years. At the room temperature it is possible to store drug no more than seven days.
