Zodak

Zodak – antiallergic drug.

Form of release and structure

Zodak release in the following dosage forms:

• Tablets, film coated: oblong, almost white or white color, on one of the parties – risk for division (on 7 pieces in blisters, on 1 blister in a cardboard pack; on 10 pieces in blisters, on 1, 3, 6, 9 or 10 blisters in a cardboard pack);
• Syrup: transparent, from light yellow color to colourless (on 100 ml in dark glass bottles, on 1 bottle in a cardboard pack complete with a measured spoon);
• Drops for intake: from light yellow color to colourless, transparent (on 20 ml in dark glass bottles with a cover dropper, on 1 bottle in a cardboard pack).

Is a part of 1 tablet:

• Active agent: цетиризин – 10 mg (in the form of dihydrochloride);
• Auxiliary components: monohydrate of lactose, corn starch, povidone 30, magnesium stearate.

Structure of a cover: macrogoal 6000, gipromelloza 2910/5, talc, titanium dioxide, emulsion of a simetikon of SE4.

Is a part of 5 ml (1 measured spoon) of syrup:

• Active agent: цетиризин – 5 mg (in the form of dihydrochloride);
• Auxiliary components: methylparahydroxybenzoate, a dihydrate sodium saccharinate, пропилпарагидроксибензоат, propylene glycol, глицерол, glacial acetic acid, sorbitol, trihydrate sodium acetate, banana fragrance, the purified water.

For intake is a part of 1 ml (20 drops) of drops:

• Active agent: цетиризин – 10 mg (in the form of dihydrochloride);
• Auxiliary components: methylparahydroxybenzoate, glacial acetic acid, пропилпарагидроксибензоат, глицерол, propylene glycol, trihydrate sodium acetate, a dihydrate sodium saccharinate, the purified water.

Indications to use

• Conjunctivitis and allergic rhinitis (year-round and seasonal);
• Pollinosis (hay fever);
• Pruritic allergic dermatosis;
• Quincke's edema;
• Small tortoiseshell (including idiopathic).

Contraindications

• Pregnancy and period of a lactation;
• Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Depending on a release form Zodak appoint to children: tablets – since 6 years; syrup – since 2 years; drops for intake – since 1.

Zodak elderly patients should take with caution (because of possible decrease in glomerular filtering) and the patient with a chronic renal failure heavy and moderate severity (it is necessary to carry out correction of the mode of dosing).

Route of administration and dosage

Zodak accept inside, irrespective of meal. In order to avoid complications drug should be used only on doctor's orders.

Tablets need to be swallowed entirely and to wash down with a small amount of water. Drops before use need to be dissolved in water.

The scheme of administration of drug is defined by age:

• Adults and children of 12 years: on 10 mg (1 tablet, 2 measured spoons of syrup or 20 drops) once a day;
• Children of 6-12 years: on 10 mg (1 tablet, 2 measured spoons of syrup or 20 drops) once a day or on 5 mg (1/2 tablets, 1 measured spoon of syrup or 10 drops) 2 times a day (in morning or evening);
• Children of 2-6 years: on 5 mg (1 measured spoon of syrup or 10 drops) once a day or on 2,5 mg (1/2 measured spoons of syrup or 5 drops) 2 times a day (in morning or evening);
• Children of 1-2 years: on 2,5 mg (5 drops) 2 times a day (in morning or evening).

Zodak's dose in the form of tablets to elderly patients and patients with the expressed functional disturbances of kidneys and/or a liver is appointed individually, in the reduced dose.

Patients with a renal failure need to reduce a daily dose of syrup and drops for intake twice. At functional disturbances of a liver the dose is selected individually (as a rule, it is reduced twice; extra care is required at a simultaneous renal failure). At normal function of kidneys correction of a dose is not required to elderly patients.

If Zodak's reception was accidentally missed, the following dose needs to be accepted as soon as possible. In cases of approach of time of the next administration of drug, the dose (without increase) needs to be accepted according to the schedule.

Side effects

As a rule, Zodak is had well. Side effects develop seldom and have passing character.

During use of drug there can be following disturbances:

• Central nervous system: dizziness, headache, fatigue, drowsiness, migraine, excitement;
• Alimentary system: dyspepsia, dryness in a mouth;
• Allergic reactions: Quincke's disease, skin rash or itch, small tortoiseshell.

Special instructions

The daily dose of syrup (10 ml) contains 3000 mg of sorbitol that there correspond 0,25 GU (grain unit). Sugar is not a part of drops therefore Zodak in this dosage form patients can accept with a diabetes mellitus.

The concomitant use of Zodak with the medicines oppressing the central nervous system and also with alcohol is not recommended.

During therapy it is recommended to abstain from performance of potentially dangerous types of the works demanding high concentration of attention and bystry psychomotor reactions.

Medicinal interaction

Clinically significant interactions of Zodak with other medicines it is not established.

At simultaneous use with theophylline (in a dose of 400 mg a day) the general clearance of a tsetirizin decreases (the kinetics of theophylline remains not changed).

Terms and storage conditions

Zodak in the form of tablets it is necessary to store in the place, dry, unavailable to children, at a temperature of 10-25 °C. Syrup and drops for intake of special storage conditions do not demand.

Period of validity – 3 years.
