Azathioprinum
Application instruction:
Azathioprinum – the medicine having powerful immunodepressive and cytostatic effect.
Form of release and structure
Azathioprinum is issued in the form of coated tablets a dosage of 0,05 g.
Indications to use
Drug suppresses reactions of a tissue incompatibility and the slowed-down hypersensitivity.
Azathioprinum is applied at the following diseases:
- Idiopathic Werlhof's disease;
- Myasthenia;
- Pseudorheumatism;
- Dermatomyositis;
- Disease Krone;
- Psoriasis;
- Autoimmune glomerulonephritis;
- Vulgar pemphigus;
- Nonspecific ulcer colitis;
- Nodular periarteritis;
- Chronic hepatitis in an active stage;
- System lupus erythematosus;
- Gangrenous pyoderma.
According to the instruction, Azathioprinum is appointed also for prevention of reaction of rejection at organ transplantation.
Contraindications
Use of Azathioprinum has the following contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to drug components;
- Liver failure;
- Oppression of a hemogenesis (aplastic and hypoplastic anemia, lymphopenia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia);
- Pregnancy;
- Breastfeeding;
- Children's age.
Route of administration and dosage
The mode of dosing and duration of a course of treatment drug is defined by the attending physician individually and depends on the general condition of the patient and a clinical picture of a course of a disease.
In transplantology for rejection reaction prevention Azathioprinum is appointed in a complex with cyclosporine and corticosteroids according to the following scheme: 4 mg/kg in 2-3 receptions one week prior to operation and for 1-2 months after it, further a dosage decrease to 2-3 mg/kg a day. If there are graft rejection signs, the daily dose of drug is raised to 4 mg/kg.
At other diseases drug is appointed on 1,5-2,0 mg/kg in 3-4 receptions.
Azathioprinum is quickly soaked up from a stomach and intestines, the greatest concentration in a blood plasma is observed in 1-2 hours after reception.
Side effects
According to the instruction, Azathioprinum can cause the following by-effects:
- Allergic reactions: arthralgia, mialgiya, skin rash, medicinal fever;
- From a digestive tract: loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, disturbance of functions of a liver;
- At patients is after organ transplantation: cankers of a stomach and duodenum, pancreatitis, intestinal bleeding, perforation and intestines necrosis;
Other by-effects: pan-uveitis, development of consecutive infections, acute renal failure, meningeal reactions, alopecia, intersticial pneumonitis.
Special instructions
The first 2 months of use of Azathioprinum it is necessary to control indicators of peripheral blood (every week), and also to monitor functions of a liver, regularly carrying out hepatic tests.
Drug withdrawal should be carried out gradually.
Analogs
The following medicines belong to analogs of Azathioprinum: Alpha-fetoprotein, Alfetin, Profetal Liofilizat, Revlimid, Stemokin. Other active agents are a part of these drugs, however they make similar impact on an organism.
