Biol – synthetic drug with anti-hypertensive effect.

Form of release and structure

Biol release in the form of tablets, film coated: round, with a cover of light yellow color, inside – white, on one party the engraving of "BIS" and figure corresponding to the content of active agent (2,5, 5 or 10) on another – risk of a crosswise form (in strip planimetric packagings on 10 pieces, in a pack of cardboard 3, 5 or 10 packagings).

Active agent: a bisoprolola гемифумарат, in 1 tablet – 2,5 mg, 5 mg or 10 mg.

Excipients: calcium hydrophosphate, starch corn, silicon dioxide colloid anhydrous, cellulose microcrystallic, croscarmellose sodium and magnesium stearate.

Indications to use

Active ingredient of Biol renders anti-hypertensive effect without own sympathomimetic activity. As a result of use of medicine the minute volume of blood decreases, activity of sympathoadrenal system decreases and the need of a myocardium for oxygen decreases.

Biol's use is recommended at treatment of the following diseases:

• Coronary heart disease, including prevention of attacks of stable stenocardia;
• Arterial hypertension;
• Chronic heart failure (as a part of a combination therapy).

Contraindications

• Acute heart failure and chronic heart failure in a decompensation stage;
• Collapse;
• Sick sinus syndrome;
• The expressed arterial hypotension;
• The expressed disturbances of peripheric circulation;
• Severe forms of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease;
• Bradycardia;
• Reynaud's syndrome;
• Hypersensitivity to Biol's components and other beta adrenoblockers;
• Pheochromocytoma;
• AV blockade of II and III degrees;
• Cardiogenic shock;
• Metabolic acidosis;
• Sinuatrial blockade;
• Cardiomegaly;
• The accompanying use of a floktafenin and sultoprid.

Biol is not recommended to accept aged up to 18 years.

Use of drug at pregnancy can lead to pre-natal death of a fruit, delay of its growth, abortions or premature births. There is a probability of pathological reactions, such as a pre-natal hypoglycemia, an arrest of development, bradycardia. Therefore Biol's use during this period, and also during breastfeeding is not recommended.

Biol take with caution:

• Hyperthyroidism;
• AV blockade of the I degree;
• Inborn heart disease;
• Depression;
• Chronic heart failure with a myocardial infarction within the last 3 months;
• The expressed renal failure and disturbance of functions of a liver;
• Performing the desensibilizing therapy;
• Diabetes mellitus of 1 type;
• Pheochromocytoma;
• Printsmetal's stenocardia;
• Psoriasis;
• Restrictive cardiomyopathy.

Route of administration and dosage

Biol is recommended to accept on an empty stomach in the morning.

At treatment of arterial hypertension and coronary heart disease usually accept 5 mg once a day. In case of need the dose can be increased twice, but no more than 20 mg of drug a day.

At chronic heart failure, after obligatory carrying out a special phase of titration under regular medical control, treatment is begun about 1/4 tablets on 5 mg of Biol. If dynamics positive, then gradually, depending on individual portability, it is possible to increase a dose to 5 or 10 mg a day (the maximum daily dose – 10 mg).

It is necessary to consider that in an initiation of treatment arterial hypotension or bradycardia can develop. In this case it is recommended to pick up the necessary accompanying standard therapy, and also to temporarily lower the accepted dose.

Existence of diseases of kidneys or a liver usually demands decrease in a dosage of drug, such adjustment is not required to elderly people.

Side effects

Biol most often can become the reason of bradycardia and a heart consciousness.

In addition, drug can cause:

• The expressed lowering of arterial pressure;
• Strengthening of disturbances of peripheric circulation and cryesthesia in extremities;
• Dizziness and headache;
• Adynamy;
• Increased fatigue and sleep disorders;
• Depression and concern;
• Nausea, vomiting, dryness of a mucous membrane of an oral cavity, diarrhea or lock, abdominal pain.

Much less often Biol's use causes puffiness of anklebones and feet, increase of attacks of stenocardia, disturbance of AV of conductivity, arrhythmia, a stethalgia, orthostatic hypotension, an asthma, increase in arterial pressure.

Are in rare instances possible: confusion of consciousness or short-term loss of memory, dorsodynia, hallucinations, skin itch, dreadful dreams, myasthenia, tremor, psoriazopodobny skin reactions, conjunctivitis and myotonia.

At overdose by Biol can be observed: the expressed bradycardia, arrhythmia, a faint, the expressed lowering of arterial pressure, dizziness, ventricular premature ventricular contraction, AV blockade, a Crocq's disease, an acute heart failure, a hypoglycemia, a bronchospasm, difficulty of breath and a spasm.

Special instructions

At simultaneous use of Biol with antiarrhytmic means 1 and 3 classes, beta adrenoblockers for topical administration (including drops for treatment of glaucoma), beta-adrenergic agonists, meflokhiny, insulin, ethanol, nifedipine, diuretics, a clonidine, sympatholytics, tricyclic and tetracyclic antidepressants, gidralaziny, antipsychotic, sedative and hypnagogues can develop the undesirable side effects leading to change of therapeutic effect of use of drugs.

In case of development of a depression therapy by drug is recommended to be stopped.

Treatment cannot be interrupted sharply as danger of development of a myocardial infarction and heavy arrhythmias is big. Cancellation is carried out gradually, reducing a dose within two weeks and more, each 3-4 days on one quarter.

It is necessary to stop Biol's reception before blood donation and urine on a research of concentration in them of a normetanefrin, vanilinmindalny acid, catecholamines, credits of antinuclear antibodies.

Efficiency of beta adrenoblockers is lowered at patients who smoke.

In the course of therapy by Biol it is necessary to observe extra care, managing vehicles and being engaged in potentially dangerous types of activity which demand the increased concentration of attention and high speed of psychomotor reactions.

Terms and storage conditions

Biol is released according to the recipe of the doctor.

To store in the dry cool place, out of access of direct sunshine, at a temperature not above 25 °C. To protect from children.

Drug period of storage – 4 years.
