Active ingredient: ciprofloxacin hydrochloride. As excipients are used: water for injections, dinatrium эдетат, sodium hydroxide, lactic acid, a benzalkoniya chloride, sodium chloride.

Pharmacological action and pharmacokinetics

Tsipromed – the germicide relating to group of ftorkhinolon is applied in ophthalmology to local action. Possesses broad antimicrobic action, is a microbicide. Tsipromed малотоксичен.

Effect of drug happens due to its property to inhibit enzymes (DNK-girazu) of bacteria, thereby breaking DNA replication and synthesis of cellular proteins of bacteria. Tsipromed's action extends both on the breeding microbes, and on being in a rest stage. To ciprofloxacin to a hydrochloride from gram-negative aerobic bacteria are sensitive:

• enterobakteriya - Salmonella spp., Hafnia alvei, Yersinia spp., Morganella morganii, Edwardsiella tarda, Citrobacter spp., Proteus vulgaris, Enterobacter spp., Vibrio spp., Proteus mirabilis;
• other gram-negative bacteria - Aeromonas spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella multocida, Moraxella catarrhalis, Plesiomonas shigelloides, Neisseria spp., Campylobacter jejuni;
• some intracellular activators - Brucella spp., Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium kansasii, Legionella pneumophila, Listeria monocytogenes, Chlamydia trachomatis;
• gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.

At topical administration Tsipromed easily gets into eye tissues. At single use of drug its concentration in moisture of the eye camera in 10 minutes makes 100 mkg/ml. The maximum concentration is reached in 1 hour and makes 190mkg/ml. After 2 hours concentration of drug begins to decrease, at the same time the antibacterial effect proceeds in cornea fabrics about 6 hours.

At seven-day therapy with quadruple use of eye drops Tsipromed average concentration makes less 2ng/ml.

Elimination half-life of drug of 4-5 hours. Tsipromed is brought by kidneys in an invariable look – 50%, in the form of metabolites – 10%, through intestines about 15%. A small part of drug can get to breast milk.

Tsipromed's dosage and route of administration

Drug is used locally, on 1-2 drops in a conjunctival sac of an eye. Frequency of use of drug averages 4 hours, but can change depending on weight of course of inflammatory processes.

At acute conjunctivitis Tsipromed is appointed 4-8 times a day. Course of therapy of 5-14 days.

At a keratitis Tsipromed is appointed at least 6 times a day. Duration of therapy depends on extent of damage of an eye. Average course of therapy 2-4 weeks.

At the damages caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Tsipromed appoint on 1 drop of 8-12 times a day. Duration of therapy is defined depending on the course of treatment, usually about 2-3 days.

For prevention of the consecutive infection received as a result of an eye injury, drug is appointed on 1 drop to 8 times a day within 1-2 weeks.

For prevention of inflammatory processes during the postoperative period (operation with perforation of an eyeglobe), Tsipromed is appointed on 1 drop from 4 to 6 times a day, during the entire period of rehabilitation – from 5 days to 1 month.

Overdose

At accidental internal use of Tsipromed of reviews of specific symptoms it was not recorded. Such reactions as are possible: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, faint, headache, feeling of alarm.

As treatment of overdose by Tsipromed the instruction recommends standard measures of ambulance, and also providing an organism with liquid.

Tsipromed's interaction with other drugs

Tsipromed is incompatible with drugs, рН value of which is equal to 3-4.

Indications to Tsipromed's use

Drug is used for treatment:

• infectious and inflammatory processes in an eye and its appendages provoked by bacteria, sensitive to drug;
• conjunctivitis acute and subacute;
• front uveitis;
• dacryocystitis;
• keratitis;
• blepharitis and other inflammatory diseases century.

And also Tsipromed apply at prevention and treatment of infectious complications during the period after operations on an eyeglobe and at eye injuries.

Contraindications

• to children till 1 year;
• at individual intolerance of ftorkhinolon;
• to pregnant women;
• when breastfeeding.

Use during pregnancy is contraindicated.

In need of performing therapy by Tsipromed breastfeeding has to be stopped.

Side effects of Tsipromed

Administration of drug Tsipromed can cause the following side effects: an itch, a short-term burning sensation, painful feelings, a hyperemia of a mucous membrane of an eye, allergic reactions, a photophobia, the century, feeling of a foreign subject in an eye, emergence of spots, dacryagogue, decrease in visual acuity, a keratitis, development of superinfection swelled. According to the received comments, ципромед right after installation can cause a feeling of unpleasant taste in a mouth.

Special instructions

Tsipromed along with carrying soft contact lenses is not recommended to apply eye drops. The preservative which is Tsipromed's part can be laid on lenses and afterwards it is adverse to influence approximately. Tsipromed's instruction allows drug use to the persons carrying rigid contact lenses. Beforehand, before drug installation, it is necessary to remove rigid contact lenses and to establish them back not less than in 15 minutes after administration of drug.

At joint therapy with other ophthalmologic drugs the pause between their reception has to be not less than 5 minutes.

The comments received when using Tsipromed's showed that drug can cause short-term decrease in clearness of sight, and also cause delay of psychomotor reactions, especially in combination with alcohol. This circumstance has to be considered by the persons occupied on potentially dangerous types of activity demanding concentration including driving of vehicles.

Conditions and Tsipromed period of storage

Tsipromed it is necessary to store at the room temperature, without freezing, in the place, unavailable to children.

Period of validity - 2 years. After depressurization of an original packing drug is stored no more than 1 month.
