Gepa-Mertz
Application instruction:
Gepa-Mertz – gipoammoniyemichesky drug for treatment of diseases of a liver and biliary tract.
Form of release and structure
Dosage forms of drug:
- Granules for preparation of solution for intake: mix of granules of white and orange color (on 5 g in bags, in a cardboard box on 10 or 30 bags);
- Concentrate for preparation of solution for infusions: transparent liquid of light yellow color (on 10 ml in ampoules of dark glass, in a cardboard box on 10 ampoules).
Active ingredient – L-aspartate L-ornithine:
- 1 bag – 3 g;
- 1 ampoule – 5 g.
Excipients:
- Granules: fragrance orange, citric acid anhydrous, sodium saccharinate (sodium saccharin), fragrance lemon, sodium cyclomate, polyvinylpirrolidone (povidone), dye sunset yellow, fructose (levulose);
- Concentrate: water for injections.
Indications to use
- The chronic and acute diseases of a liver which are followed by a giperammoniyemiya;
- The latent or expressed hepatic encephalopathy.
Besides, use of a concentrate is shown as a part of complex therapy of heavy degree of hepatic encephalopathy at a condition of the patient in a prekoma or a coma, and as corrective additive to means for parenteral food at proteinaceous insufficiency.
Contraindications
- Heavy degree of a renal failure (level of creatinine of 3 mg / 100 ml);
- Breastfeeding period;
- Hypersensitivity to drug components.
Gepa-Mertz in granules with care appoint during pregnancy.
Route of administration and dosage
- Granules accept inside, after food, having dissolved in liquid – 1 bag on 200 ml, 2-3 times a day;
- The concentrate is entered intravenously kapelno, having dissolved in 500 ml of infusion solution to 40 ml (4 ampoules) a day. In case of hepatic encephalopathy (depending on severity of a state) intravenously enter up to 80 ml (8 ampoules) a day. The doctor appoints dosing and the period of treatment on the basis of clinical indications individually. The most admissible speed of injection – 5 g an hour. In 500 ml of infusion solution it is recommended to dissolve no more than 60 ml (6 ampoules) of drug.
Side effects
- Alimentary system: in some cases – vomiting, nausea;
- Other: allergic reactions.
Special instructions
In case of developing of nausea or vomiting it is necessary to lower drug rate of administering.
Patients hepatic encephalopathy need to be careful with the diagnosis at occupation potentially dangerous types of activity which performance demands concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions, including at control of vehicles.

Data on clinically significant medicinal interaction of drug are absent.
