Gino-Pevaril
Application instruction:
Gino-Pevaril – antifungal drug with a broad spectrum of activity, active concerning mold mushrooms, yeast and dermatophytes, having clinically significant activity against gram-positive bacteria.
Form of release and structure
Dosage form – vaginal suppositories: a torpedo-shaped form, white color, with a fat smell (50 mg: on 5 pieces in the blister, on 3 blisters in a cardboard pack; 150 mg: on 3 pieces in the blister, on 1 blister in a cardboard pack).
Active ingredient: an ekonazola nitrate, in 1 suppository – 50 or 150 mg.
As excipient solid fat (type A and B) is used.
Indications to use
Gino-Pevaril is applied to treatment of vulvovaginal mycoses.
Contraindications
Gino-Pevaril is contraindicated to children and teenagers up to 16 years, and also to all patients with existence of hypersensitivity to any of drug components.
With care appoint drug to elderly people (65 years are more senior) since data on safety and efficiency of its use at this age are not enough.
Ekonazol is soaked up from a vagina in a system blood stream therefore it is not recommended to appoint it in the I trimester of pregnancy. In II and III trimesters drug can be appointed only according to strict indications if the expected advantage exceeds potential risks.
Whether the ekonazola nitrate gets into breast milk, it is unknown therefore during a lactation it is necessary to apply Gino-Pevaril with care.
Route of administration and dosage
Gino-Pevaril is applied intravaginalno.
The dose is defined by the doctor individually for each patient.
Suppositories need to be entered deeply into a vagina, in a prone position, just before a dream:
- In a dose of 50 mg – within 14 days;
- In a dose of 150 mg – within 3 days.
Even in case of disappearance of symptoms of a disease (an itch also bleach) it is necessary to conduct a full course of treatment.
In case of a recurrence or a positive take of a cultural research 1 week later conduct a repeated course of therapy.
Side effects
In general Gino-Pevaril is had well, in rare instances there are rash, an itch, burning sensation, local irritation, an erythema. Separate cases of development of a small tortoiseshell and a Quincke's disease are known.
Special instructions
During treatment it is not recommended to use condoms and a diaphragm as эконазол can reduce efficiency of latex barrier contraceptives. Besides, it must be kept in mind that Gino-Pevaril can inactivate the spermicidal contraceptive means applied intravaginalno.
In case of strong irritation drug should be cancelled.
Gino-Pevaril does not render a negative impact on ability to manage vehicles and to work with difficult mechanisms.
Medicinal interaction
The corresponding researches on an occasion of interaction of Gino-Pevaril with other medicines were not conducted. Considering chemical similarity of an ekonazol of nitrate to imidazole derivatives, the possibility of its competitive interaction with substances which are metabolized by CYP3A4/2C29 enzymes is supposed. However considering the fact that drug is poorly soaked up in a system blood stream, the probability of development of clinically significant interactions is improbable.
In case of simultaneous use of peroral anticoagulants (warfarin or an atsenokumarol) it is necessary to control parameters of coagulability of blood.
Gino-Pevaril it is not necessary to appoint in a combination with other means for treatment of gynecologic diseases applied inside or outwardly.
