Gramicidin C

Gramicidin C – antibiotic drug for topical and external use.

Form of release and structure

Gramicidin C is produced in the following dosage forms:

• Tablets for a rassasyvaniye: ploskotsilindrichesky with a facet, white with a yellowish shade or white color, on the one hand risk, with another – marking of "R", or without it (on 20 pieces in polymeric banks, after 1 bank in a cardboard pack; on 10 pieces in blister strip packagings, on 2 packagings in a cardboard pack);
• Concentrate for preparation of solution for topical and external use of spirit 2%: solution from yellow till light yellow color (on 5 or 10 ml in bottles, on 1 bottle in a cardboard pack).

Is a part of 1 tablet:

• Active agent: gramicidin C – 1,5 mg;
• Auxiliary components: sugar milk (lactose) – 441,69 mg; calcium stearate – 6 mg; food fragrance – 1,98 mg; sugar (sucrose) – 148,2 mg; sodium saccharinate (soluble saccharin) – 0,63 mg.

For preparation of solution for topical and external use enters into structure of 1 ml of a concentrate:

• Active agent: gramicidin C – 20 mg;
• Auxiliary components: ethanol (alcohol of ethyl 95%) – to 1 ml.

Indications to use

Gramicidin C in the form of tablets zashchechny is applied at treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of a throat and oral cavity, including pharyngitis, acute tonsillitis (quinsy), an ulitis, periodontosis, stomatitis.

Drug in the form of a concentrate to preparation of solution for external and topical administration is applied at treatment of the following diseases:

• Fatty and aqueous solution: burns, decubituses, purulent wounds, ulcers, osteomyelitis, an empyema, an injury of joints, an anthrax, a furuncle, phlegmon (in the form of washings, tampons and irrigation of bandages);
• Spirit solution: pyoderma;
• Aqueous solution: infectious and inflammatory diseases of an oral cavity and throat, including periodontosis, quinsy, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, a periodontal disease, stomatitis, an ulitis, a glossitis, etc. Also aqueous solution is applied during removal and dental care (as auxiliary medicine).

As a part of a combination therapy Gramicidin C is appointed for treatment of a blepharitis, the infected eczema a century, a meibomitis (barley).

Contraindications

• Lactation period;
• Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Pregnant women should use drug with care.

It is contraindicated to children to apply tablets to a rassasyvaniye up to 4 years, children of 4-12 years need to take drug with caution.

In addition contraindications to use of Gramicidin C in the form of a concentrate for preparation of solution for topical and external use is a dermatosis.

Route of administration and dosage

Gramicidin C in the form of tablets should be applied to a rassasyvaniye sublingual (slow rassasyvy in an oral cavity, without chewing), after food. For 1-2 hours after use of drug it is necessary to abstain from reception of drinks and food.

Drug is accepted by 4 times a day. The single dose is defined by age:

• Children of 4-6 years – on 1 tablet;
• Children of 6-12 years – on 1-2 tablets (it is no more than 7 tablets in day);
• Children of 12 years and adults – on 2 tablets (within 20-30 minutes one for another).

Duration of a therapeutic course – 5-6 days. On doctor's orders drug can be used is longer.

The solution of Gramicidin C prepared from a concentrate is applied outwardly and locally.

For preparation of one rinsing the concentrate should be parted in 100 ml of drinking water. The single dose of drug for adults makes 10 ml, for children – 5 ml. Procedures it is necessary to carry out 2-3 times a day.

For preparation of aqueous solution the concentrate needs to be parted by 100-200 times. For this purpose it is necessary to add to contents of a bottle of 5 ml 500-1000 ml of water, 10 ml – 1000-2000 ml of water (usual drinking or sterile distilled).

Solution should be applied with method of irrigation or by means of well impregnated napkins over which impose a sterile gauze napkin then fix gauze bandage.

For cultivation of a concentrate for the purpose of receiving fatty solution it is possible to use castor oil, lanolin or fish oil in the ratio of 125-150 ml of any of these means for 5 ml of a concentrate, 250-300 ml – for 10 ml of a concentrate. The received fatty solution of Gramicidin C is applied by means of the impregnated napkins, from above put a sterile napkin from a gauze then fix gauze bandage.

To prepare spirit solution a concentrate it is necessary to part 70% with ethanol by 100 times (5:500 or 10:1000). Drug is used at treatment of a pyoderma, greasing skin 2-3 times a day.

Side effects

In some cases at use of Gramicidin C development of allergic reactions and contact dermatitis is possible.

Special instructions

Sick diabetes mellitus it is necessary to consider that each tablet contains 0,05 grain units (GU).

Gramicidin C in the form of aqueous solution can be applied within 3 days from the moment of preparation. It is impossible to enter solutions into a vein (possibly development of phlebitis and hemolysis).

Medicinal interaction

Gramicidin C can strengthen effect of use of other antimicrobic means of systemic and local action.

Terms and storage conditions

To store in protected from light, the place, dry, unavailable to children.

Period of validity:

• Tablets for a rassasyvaniye: 3 years at a temperature up to 25 °C;
• Concentrate for preparation of solution for topical and external use spirit: 5 years at a temperature of 12-15 °C.
