Хелекс – anxiolytic, a tranquilizer.

Structure and form of release of Heleks

Хелекс release in the form of tablets. One tablet contains active agent – to alprazola of 0,25, 0,5 or 1 mg.

Auxiliary components: dyes, magnesium stearate, lactose, corn starch, polysorbate 80, кросповидон, povidone.

On 15 tablets in packaging.

Pharmacological action

Хелекс is the tranquilizer derivative of benzodiazepine. Renders sedative, anticonvulsant, anxiolytic, somnolent, central myorelaxation and easy antidepressive action on an organism.

Anxiolytic (elimination of sensation of fear and alarm) Heleks's action is caused it by linkng in TsNS with benzodiazepine receptors. Antidepressive impact is made due to influence on adrenergic structures of a brain.

Indications to Heleks's use

According to the instruction of Heleks appoint in the following cases:

• alarming depressions;
• the alarming frustration accompanying with tension, sensation of fear, dangers, agitation, sleeplessness, an acrimony and somatic disturbances;
• abstinence syndrome at an alcoholism;
• panic frustration;
• alarming depressions against the background of somatopathies.

Contraindications

• period of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
• the age is less than 18 years;
• acute form of closed-angle glaucoma;
• the expressed renal failures and a liver;
• epilepsy;
• acute respiratory insufficiency;
• hypersensitivity to an alprazolam or other components of drug.

It is not recommended to appoint Heleks to patients at:

• psychomotor block;
• primary symptoms of a depression;
• heavy depression with suicide bents;
• bipolar depression with psychotic symptomatology.

All patients with depressive frustration have to be during Heleks's reception under strict medical control in order to avoid the increased suicide bents.

With extra care it is necessary to appoint Heleks at renal failures, a liver and to patients with respiratory insufficiency.

During Heleks's reception it is not recommended to take alcoholic drinks as strengthening of the oppressing impact on TsNS is possible.

Route of administration of Heleks and mode of dosing

The doctor appoints an optimum dosage of drug individually, depending on efficiency of treatment and a clinical situation.

At depressive and alarming frustration at adult Heleks, as a rule, appoint in an initial dosage 0,25-0,5 mg three times a day. To patients of old age appoint 0,25 mg two times a day. The supporting dosage for adults makes 0,5-4 mg a day, for patients of old age – 0,5-0,75 mg the day divided into two-three receptions.

At panic frustration the initial dosage of drug makes 0,5-2 mg three times a day. It is not recommended to increase a dosage more than by 1 mg for three days. The supporting dosage – 4-10 mg the day divided into three receptions.

If Heleks's reception in higher dosages is necessary, then it is necessary to increase them gradually, with care. At first increase a dosage for evening reception, after – for day.

If at the beginning of therapy undesirable side effects are observed, it is necessary to lower a drug dosage.

It is impossible to stop sharply administration of drug as it is fraught with a withdrawal. Хелекс cancel gradually throughout a long span, lowering a dosage no more than by 0,25 mg of times in three days.

Side effects of Heleks

Heleks's use can cause the following undesirable by-effects:

• Urinary system: at long reception the delay or an incontience of urine, decrease a libido and sexual dysfunctions is possible.
• Central and peripheral nervous systems: drowsiness, dizziness, decrease in concentration of attention, dystonia, anorexia, incoordination, memory impairment, feeling of fatigue, spasm, sedation, disturbances of the speech. Dreadful dreams, hypererethism, nervous irritability and sleeplessness are in exceptional cases possible.
• Other side effects: muscular weakness, jaundice, giperprolaktinemiya, skin itch, change of weight.

Most often side effects are temporary.

At long reception of Heleks development of medicinal dependence is possible.

Overdose by Heleks

Symptoms of overdose by Heleks following:

• oppression of awareness of various degrees of severity;
• oppression of respiratory function;
• lack of coordination of movements;
• arterial hypotension;
• coma;
• cardiac standstill and breath.

In case of overdose by Heleks it is necessary to cause vomiting in the patient or to make a gastric lavage, to accept absorbent carbon and to carry out a symptomatic treatment.

In especially hard cases of overdose, in particular at respiratory insufficiency, it is necessary to apply the specific antagonist of benzodiazepine receptors – flumazenit.

Heleks's use in pediatrics

Efficiency and safety of use of Heleks for children are investigated at the insufficient level therefore persons are not recommended to use drug, 18 years are younger.

Medicinal interaction

At Heleks's combination with other psychotropic medicines (opioid analgetics, barbiturates, antidepressants, neuroleptics, antihistaminic and anticonvulsant drugs, ethanol) strengthening of the oppressing impact on TsNS is possible.

Heleks storage conditions

Store drug in the dry dark place at the room temperature not longer than five years.
