Rutinum

Rutinum – angioprotektorny phytodrug; the dietary supplement (DS) improving digestion of vitamin C, strengthening capillaries, strengthening blood circulation, reducing puffiness, having powerful antioxidant effect on an organism.

Form of release and structure

Dosage forms of Rutinum:

  • tablets of 20 mg (on 10 pieces in blister strip packagings, 3 packagings in a cardboard pack);
  • tablets of 50 mg (on 100 pieces in banks);
  • tablets of 500 mg (on 50, 100, 250 pieces in banks);
  • capsules of 500 mg (on 120 pieces in banks);
  • powder: fine-crystalline, chartreuse, without taste and a smell, it is almost insoluble in water, it is dissolved in weak solutions of caustic alkalis (on 50, 100, 500, 1000 in two-layer polyethylene sacks).

Active ingredient of all forms of drug – the rutoside which is contained in leaves of a rue odorous (Ruta graveolens L.), green material of a buckwheat, kidneys and flowers of a Sophora of Japanese (Sophora japonica) of family of bean (Leguminosae).

Indications to use

  • hypo - and vitamin P avitaminosis owing to deficit or total absence of its receipt in an organism – for prevention and treatment;
  • the venous insufficiency of the lower extremities which is followed by a pain syndrome and hypostases, caused including, thrombosis at pregnancy (from the II trimester);
  • the varicose dermatitis and trophic ulcers of a shin arising against the background of a varicosis;
  • limfedema (lymphostasis);
  • hemorrhoids;
  • removal of varicose nodes, sclerotherapy of veins – as a maintenance therapy after interventions;
  • diabetic retinopathy (defeat of vessels of a mesh cover of an eyeglobe) – as a part of complex treatment;
  • radiation therapy – for prevention of reactions from mucous membranes and integuments.

Contraindications

Rutinum is contraindicated to use in the I trimester of pregnancy and in case of individual hypersensitivity to rutoside.

Route of administration and dosage

The drug Rutinum is intended for intake, tablets and capsules wash down with water.

The recommended dosing mode depending on a disease/state:

  • chronic venous insufficiency: an initial dose – on 300 mg 3-4 times a day or on 500 mg 2 times a day, a daily dose – 1000-1200 mg; clinically significant therapeutic effect develops for 2 weeks then therapy is continued in the same dose, or reduce to the minimum supporting – 600 mg a day; the reached effect after the termination of administration of drug remains within 4 weeks;
  • diabetic retinopathy: 1000-2000 mg a day;
  • prevention of dermatological reactions to passing of radiation therapy – 500 mg 2 times a day throughout all course of radiation (before disappearance of symptoms);
  • limfedema (lymphostasis): 3000 mg a day (on 1000 mg 3 times a day).

As nutritional supplement of the Rutinum capsule about 1 piece 2 times a day is recommended to accept, tablets of 50 mg – 1-2 pieces daily, tablets of 500 mg – on 1 piece 2 times a day, during meal if there are no other instructions of the attending physician.

Side effects

The following side effects are possible: hypersensitivity reactions (for example, skin rash), nausea, heartburn, diarrhea, "inflows" of blood to the person, a headache.

Special instructions

In the II-III trimesters of pregnancy, during breastfeeding, in need of combined use of other medicines and/or existence of associated diseases before accepting any dietary supplements it is required to consult with the doctor.

Also it is necessary immediately to stop using drug and to see a doctor in case of any adverse reactions.

Medicinal interaction

The effect of action of Rutinum amplifies at its combined use with ascorbic acid.

Terms and storage conditions

To store in the dry place at the room temperature. To protect from children.
