Simbalta – pharmacological drug from group of antidepressants.

Structure and form of release

According to Simbalt's instruction is issued in the form of capsules for intake. Active ingredient – дулоксетин. 1 capsule of drug contains 30 or 60 mg of a duloksetin and auxiliary components (sucrose, talc, a gipromelloza, gipromelloza acetate succinate, dye white, triethyl citrate, titanium dioxide, sodium lauryl sulfate, gelatin, dye ferrous oxide yellow).

Simbalta in capsules on 30 and 60 mg is made. In the blister 7 or 14 of capsules with drug. In cardboard packaging there can be 1,2 or 6 blisters.

Pharmacological effect of drug of Simbalt

According to Simbalt's instruction treats group of antidepressants. Drug inhibits the return serotonin reuptake and Norepinephrinum therefore noradrenergichesky and serotonergic neurotransmission in the central nervous system raises. Besides drug promotes suppression of a pain syndrome that promotes increase in a threshold of painful sensitivity at patients with a pain syndrome of a neyropatichesky origin.

Simbalta is well soaked up after intake. The maximum concentration of drug in blood serum is defined in 6 hours after reception. In an organism дулоксетин it is metabolized. Simbalt's drug generally is removed by kidneys. Elimination half-life of 12 hours.

Indications to use

According to Simbalt's instruction it is recommended to appoint at a depression and a painful form of diabetic neuropathy.

Contraindications to Simbalt's use

• hypersensitivity to the making components;
• closed-angle glaucoma (noncompensated);
• concomitant use of MAO inhibitors (monoamine oxidase).

With care this drug should be used at an aggravation of maniacal states, epileptic seizures, dysfunction of livers/kidneys, a mydriasis, and also at patients with tendency to a suicide.

Use during pregnancy and a lactation

According to Simbalt's instruction it is not recommended to appoint during pregnancy as there is no sufficient clinical experience of use of this drug.

Simbalt's use is reasonable only in that case when the potential advantage of drug is much higher than risk for a fruit.

In the period of a lactation it is not necessary to use this drug.

Route of administration and doses of drug of Simbalt

Capsules of drug are accepted inside, entirely, without chewing.

The initial dose of drug of Simbalt usually makes 60 mg regardless of meal once a day. The maximum dose – 120 mg (in two steps). According to Simbalt it is well transferred by patients and effectively helps at depressions.

At patients with the phenomena of a renal failure the recommended initial dose makes 30 mg.

There is no clinical experience of use of Simbalt for patients more young than 18 years.

Side effect

According to Simbalt's responses seldom causes side reactions. In clinical trials the following side effects were most often noted: dizziness, dryness in a mouth, sleep disorders, a headache (about 10%). It should be noted that against the background of placebo reception the headache arose more often than at administration of drug of Simbalt.

Very seldom (from 1 to 10%), according to reviews, Simbalta causes side effects in the form of diarrhea, a tremor, a loss of appetite, weakness, the increased sweating, inflows, anorgazmiya, decrease in a libido, disturbances of an ejaculation.

With diabetic neuropathy of Simbalt can cause insignificant increase in concentration of glucose in blood in patients.

Overdose by Simbalt's drug

There are single messages on overdose by this drug, it was without fatal effects. Can be symptoms of overdose: tremor, spasms, ataxy, vomiting. Symptomatic treatment. There is no specific antidote.

Interaction with other medicines

It is not necessary to accept at the same time drugs with similar action on the central nervous system (including ethanol).

Simbalta's combination and drugs which highly contact serum proteins can cause increase in concentration of both medicines.

Special instructions on Simbalt's use

It is not necessary to accept at the same time Simbalt's drug and MAO inhibitors as isolated cases with a lethal outcome and serious complications are described (a myoclonus, a hyperthermia, the expressed excitement with transition to a coma). It is not necessary to use this drug within 14 days after the end of therapy by MAO inhibitors.

At patients with maniacal states at use of other drugs influencing a nervous system (or alcohol) in combination with Simbalta the exacerbation of a disease is possible.

As at depressions there is a probability of suicide attempts, it is necessary to observe carefully patients who treat risk group.

Simbalt's reception can cause drowsiness therefore, the patients accepting this drug need to show care when driving motor transport and during the work with moving mechanisms.
