Bacteriostatic antimicrobic drug, streptocide. The mechanism of action of Sulfadimezinum is caused by oppression of a digidropteroatsintaza, competitive antagonism with paraaminobenzoic acid, disturbance of synthesis of the tetrahydrofolic acid necessary for synthesis of pyrimidines and purines.

At pneumonia and wound fevers the dosage for children makes 0,1 g on body weight kg for the first time, then the dosage is increased to 0,1-0,15 g by body weight kg a day. Adults accept 2 g for the first time, then increase a dosage to 1 g a day. In two-three days after disappearance of symptoms reception of Sulfadimezinum is stopped.

The second year is conducted five days later after the first course. For the first and second day accept 1 g each four hours, and at night in eight hours. For the third and fourth day – to 1 g there are each four hours, at night drug is not accepted. For the fifth day administration of drug makes 3 g a day.

The maximum one-time dosage for adults makes 2 g, daily – 7 g. For children the maximum daily dosage makes 0,1-0,15 g on body weight kg.
