Arteriosclerosis

Arteriosclerosis (arteriosclerosis; Greek aer – air + Greek tereo – to contain + Greek sklerosis – hardening, consolidation) – a thickening and consolidation of walls of arteries with loss of elasticity by them because of growth of fibrous fabric; it is usually observed against the background of infectious and allergic diseases, aging, etc.
