Basophilia

Basophilia (Greek basophilia):

  1. Property of cytoplasm and other components of a cell or other microstructures to be painted under the influence of the main dyes (an azur, hematoxylin, etc.);
  2. The quantity of basophiles exceeding norm in blood; points to existence at the person of a myxedema, nonspecific ulcer colitis, allergic reactions, it is observed also at pregnancy (the number of basophiles at the same time raises slightly); often the maintenance of basophiles at a myelosis grows, it is predictively an adverse sign.
