Necropsy

Necropsy (autopsia; synonym: section, autopsy; outdate – an autotomy, abduction) – the research of a body of the dead at which consistently take and is prepared by fabrics and bodies, with detection of the pathological changes which are available in them and establishment of causes of death.

Types of necropsy:

  • Pathoanatomical – made by the doctor-pathologist for establishment of the pathoanatomical diagnosis and its further comparison to the clinical diagnosis;
  • Medicolegal – made by the medical expert or the forensic scientist in the presence of definition of court, the resolution of bodies of inquiry or the investigation.
