Application instruction:
Витабакт – derivative guanyl guanidines, antimicrobic drug for topical administration in ophthalmology.
Form of release and structure
Dosage form – eye drops of 0,05%: colourless, transparent, slightly yellowish color (on 10 ml in bottles droppers, on 1 bottle in a cardboard pack).
Active ingredient: picloxydine dihydrochloride, in 1 ml of drops – 500 mkg (that corresponds to the content of picloxydine – 434 mkg).
Auxiliary components: polysorbate 80, a dextrose anhydrous, the water purified.
Indications to use
- Dacryocystitis;
- Bacterial infections of front department of an eye.
Also Vitabakt is applied to prevention of infectious complications which can develop after surgical interventions in the field of front department of an eye.
Contraindications
The only strict contraindication to Vitabakt's reception is individual sensitivity to his components.
Because effect of drug in case of its use during pregnancy and a lactation was not studied, pregnant women and the nursing women are not recommended to appoint Vitabakt.
Route of administration and dosage
At bacterial infections of Vitabakt appoint on 1 drop in each eye from 2 to 6 times a day within 10 days. If there is a need, the doctor can prolong a course of treatment.
In the postoperative period 3-4 times a day recommend to dig in drug on 1 drop in each eye.
If necessary medicine can be applied in the preoperative period for the purpose of prevention of postoperative complications. In this case dig in 1-2 drops just before surgical intervention.
Rules of use of drug:
- To open a bottle, it is necessary to screw up against the stop a cover (at the same time the thorn on its interior punctures a dropper);
- For instillation it is necessary to throw back the head a little back and to direct a look up;
- Order drops in the lower conjunctival sac, for this purpose it is necessary to delay a lower eyelid carefully.
Side effects
Generally Vitabakt is transferred well, in rare instances there are allergic reactions which are shown a conjunctival hyperemia.
Special instructions
In case of simultaneous use of other ophthalmologic drugs between instillations it is necessary to maintain at least 15-minute intervals.
Витабакт does not exert a negative impact on contact lenses (including soft hydrophilic), nevertheless, during treatment of infectious diseases their carrying is contraindicated.
Drug is not intended for introduction to an anterior chamber of an eye and subconjunctival injections.
For prevention of pollution of solution during an instillation it is necessary to observe extra care not to allow contact of a tip of a dropper with an eye, skin or other surfaces.
Patients at whom after instillation decrease in clearness of sight is noted are recommended to refrain from control of vehicles and performance of potentially dangerous types of works.
