Advantan is an anti-inflammatory drug for topical treatment of skin diseases: eczemas, dermatitis, allergic rashes.

Drug makes local impact on an affected area of an integument, eliminates inflammation symptoms, symptoms of an allergy, the pathological thickening of epidermis warns.

Form of release and structure

Means is issued in several forms for external use:

Fat ointment Advantan (with castor oil) 0,1% in a tuba on 5 g and 15 g;
Ointment Advantan of 0,1% in a tuba of 15 g;
Cream Advantan of 0,1% in a tuba on 5 g and 15 g;
Emulsion Advantan of 0,1% in a tuba on 10 g, 20 g and 50 g.

The main active ingredient of drug - Methylprednisolonum ацепонат.

Indications to use

According to the instruction, Advantan in the form of ointment, fat ointment and cream apply to treatment of dermatitis of various origin (atopic, allergic, contact, neurodermatitis) and eczemas (degenerative, dry, eczemas at children).

Drug removes reddening, a thickening of skin and its hypostasis, eliminates feeling of an itch and burning.

Fat ointment Advantan will be applied at dry, and ointment without castor oil – at normal skin. At the becoming wet defeats it is the is best of all cream Advantan on a water basis will be suitable for treatment.

According to the instruction, Advantan in the form of an emulsion it is possible to apply at the same diseases, as ointment, but best of all it is suitable for treatment of contact dermatitis and sunblisters.

Contraindications

According to the instruction Advantan has the following contraindications to use:

Intolerance of any component of drug;
Viral infections;
Tuberculosis cutis;
Syphilis.

It is impossible to apply Advantan on extensive sites of skin longer than 3 months.

Route of administration and dosage

Any form of drug is applied with a thin layer on the sick site of skin, quiet movements, without rubbing, 1 time a day to adults and children. The course of treatment for adult patients makes 3 months, Advantan's use for treatment of children should not last more than 1 month, in the form of an emulsion – 2 weeks. Advantan for children is allowed for use, since 4-month age.

Side effects

Among side effects of drug most often patients note an itch, reddening and burning of skin, rashes in the form of small bubbles (vesicles) on site of Advantan's drawing.

Skin can sometimes become thinner, there can be eels and extensions in the form of thin violet strips (striya).

The inflammation of follicles of hair or hypertrichosis (excess growth of hair), site dermatitis about a mouth is very seldom possible.

Special instructions

At a bacterial and fungal infection of skin drug is used only as supportive application.

It is impossible to put Advantan on a face at pink eels or circumoral dermatitis, and also on mucous membranes.
