Azitrox
Application instruction:
Azitrox is an antibiotic of a broad spectrum of activity.
Form of release and structure
Azitrox belongs to antibiotics of makrolidny group. Active ingredient is azithromycin.
Is issued in the form of solid gelatin capsules with powder of white or yellowish color in a blister strip packaging.
1 capsule contains azithromycin a dihydrate (in terms of azithromycin) – 250 mg or 500 mg, and also excipients:
- Mannitolum (mannitol);
- Starch corn;
- Sodium lauryl sulfate;
- Magnesium stearate.
Indications to use
According to the instruction, Azitrox is appointed at:
- Inflammations of respiratory tracts (tonsillitis, pharyngitis, otitis, sinusitis);
- Infections of ENT organs (bronchitis and exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, hospital or not hospital pneumonia);
- Diseases, sexually transmitted;
- Damages of skin and soft tissues (impetigo, ugly face, the migrating chronic erythema, a secondary piodermalny dermatosis);
- The duodenal and gastric infections caused by Helicobacter pylori.
Contraindications
Azitrox according to the instruction is contraindicated at hypersensitivity to azithromycin and other antibiotics of makrolidny group, and also at a liver or renal failure.
Drug appointment to children with body weight less than 45 kg is not allowed.
It is necessary to be careful at a concomitant use with antacids as they slow down azithromycin absorption, and also with ergotamine derivatives as there is a probability of an ergotism.
Route of administration and dosage
Adults and children should accept Azitrox for an hour before meal or in two hours after food no more once a day. It is connected with the long period of removal of medicine from an organism.
The average therapeutic dose makes 250-500 mg depending on indications, is selected the doctor in an individual order.
The daily dose depends on indications and makes from 500 mg to 1000 mg.
The passed capsule should be accepted as soon as possible. Reception of the following dose has to take place strictly in 24 hours.
Side effects
During use of Azitrox there can be side reactions, the majority of which are not the basis for the treatment termination, and demand only reduction of a dosage. Among them:
- Vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, swelling and abdominal pains;
- Headache, neutropenia, dizziness, eosinophilia, arthralgia;
- Vaginitis, excitement, angioedema, nervousness, sleeplessness, paresthesia, hypotension, stethalgia, cardiopalmus, erythema, damages of skin and mucous membranes.
Typical symptoms of overdose by azithromycin – a partial hearing loss, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea. In this case purpose of absorbent carbon, a gastric lavage and symptomatic therapy is shown.
Special instructions
Use of Azitrox at pregnancy perhaps in some cases, under strict medical control.
Reliable data about penetration of drug into breast milk are absent therefore in need of treatment in the period of a lactation, feeding by a breast should be stopped.
Azitrox does not influence ability to manage vehicles, and also does not slow down mental and physical reactions.
