Bagomet

Таблетки, покрытые пленочной оболочкой, БагометBagomet – the drug with hypoglycemic action used for treatment of a diabetes mellitus 2 types at inefficiency of therapy by drugs of group of sulphonylurea.

Form of release and structure

Bagomet with the content of metformin of a hydrochloride as active agent is let out in the following dosage forms:

  • Tablets, film coated, on 500 mg (on 10 pieces in blisters);
  • Tablets of the prolonged action, film coated, on 850 mg and on 1000 mg (on 10 pieces in blisters).

Indications to use

By Bagomet appoint at treatment of a diabetes mellitus 2 types, especially in combination with obesity, including cases when therapy by drugs of group of sulphonylurea is inefficient.

Bagomet can be applied in monotherapy or along with insulin or other peroral hypoglycemic drugs.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to the components which are a part of tablets;
  • Diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic prekoma, coma;
  • Renal failure or renal failure;
  • Observance of a hypocaloric diet (less than 1000 kcal a day);
  • Lactoacidosis (including in the anamnesis);
  • Clinically expressed displays of chronic and acute diseases which can lead to development of a fabric hypoxia (including an acute myocardial infarction, heart or respiratory failure);
  • Alcoholism, acute alcoholic poisoning;
  • Liver failure, abnormal liver function.

Bagomet cannot be accepted at the acute states proceeding with risk of development of renal failures such as:

  • Dehydration (at vomiting, diarrhea), fever, serious infectious diseases;
  • Condition of a hypoxia (sepsis, shock, bronchopulmonary diseases, renal infections).

Medicine is not appointed to the feeding and pregnant women. Also Bagomet cannot be accepted during extensive surgeries and at injuries when performing insulin therapy is shown.

Reception of tablets on 500 mg, up to 18 years – on 850 mg and 1000 mg is contraindicated to children up to 10 years.

Care is demanded by Bagomet's use at advanced age, and also when performing hard physical work.

Route of administration and dosage

Bagomet's dose is defined by concentration of glucose in blood and is established by the doctor individually.

In an initiation of treatment usually appoint 2-3 tablets (on 500 mg) in day which for decrease in expressiveness of manifestation of disturbances of digestion are recommended to be accepted in 2-3 receptions. In the absence of side effects, if necessary, the dosage can be increased gradually. As much as possible – 6 tablets a day divided into 3 receptions.

To teenagers and children 10 years usually are more senior appoint 1 tablet of Bagomet (500 mg) a day. Depending on reaction to effect of drug in 10-14 days the dosage is adjusted. The maximum daily dose – 4 tablets a day divided into 3 receptions.

As a part of the combined treatment with insulin the average daily dosage makes 1500 mg. The dose of insulin is selected the doctor proceeding from glucose indicators in blood.

At purpose of drug in the form of tablets with the prolonged action, the initial dosage makes 850 mg or 1000 mg. A pill should be taken together with food, washing down with enough liquid. At good tolerance of Bagomet perhaps gradual increase in a dosage. As a rule, the maintenance dose makes 1700 mg, maximum – 2550 mg a day.

At administration of drug as a part of a combination therapy the daily dose usually makes 1 tablet on 850 mg or 1000 mg.

Side effects

Most often at Bagomet's use development of lactoacidosis which precursory symptoms are digestion disturbances (nausea, diarrhea, vomiting), dizziness, temperature increase, abdominal pains and in muscles is observed.

At accidental drug intake in the quantity exceeding the recommended dosage it is necessary to carry out a gastric lavage.

Special instructions

During Bagomet's reception regular control of concentration of glucose in blood after food and on an empty stomach is necessary.

Such symptoms as vomiting, muscular pain, the general weakness, strong indisposition can testify to the beginning lactoacidosis. At emergence of similar signs, and also at development of symptoms of an infectious disease of urinogenital ways or a bronchopulmonary infection it is necessary to stop drug intake and to see a doctor.

Drug is cancelled two days prior to carrying out X-ray inspection, operations under the general, peridural or spinal anesthesia.

During Bagomet's use it is impossible to accept alcohol, in connection with increase in risk of development of lactoacidosis.

There are no data on negative impact of medicine on ability to drive the car. However during a combination therapy along with other hypoglycemic drugs it is recommended to be careful when working, demanding the increased concentration of attention.

Terms and storage conditions

Drug is released according to the recipe of the doctor (list B).

To store at a temperature up to 25 °C.
