Baktroban
Application instruction:
Baktroban – antibacterial drug for topical administration.
Form of release and structure
Baktroban is issued in the form of ointment of 2% nasal and ointments of 2% for external use.
The main operating component – мупироцин.
Indications to use
- Skin infections: impetigo, furunculosis, folliculitis, ecthyma;
- The infected injuries, eczema, small wounds and burns;
- Local infections of a nasal cavity (for nasal ointment).
Contraindications
Baktroban's use is contraindicated to patients at whom the intolerance of a mupirotsin and other components of medicine is revealed.
With care appoint drug to patients with a renal failure, especially if processing by ointment of the big site of skin or integuments with the broken integrity is necessary.
Route of administration and dosage
Ointment for external use is applied a thin layer on the cleared affected area of skin by 1-3 times a day then it is possible to apply a bandage. Duration of a course of treatment – from 7 to 10 days.
Drug in the form of nasal ointment in a small amount is placed in each nostril by 2 times a day. After an ointment mortgaging intranazalno, for its best distribution, it is necessary to close well fingers a nose and to press several times the nasal courses on both sides. The recommended course of treatment – 5 days.
Side effects
Baktroban is usually had well, however separate cases of emergence of an itch, burning, a xeroderma, a hyperemia, a small tortoiseshell, hypostasis, contact dermatitis were recorded.
Special instructions
For patients with disturbances of renal function correction of a dose of drug is not required.
After Baktroban's use it is necessary to wash up carefully hands to avoid hit of ointment in eyes.
When using medicine it is necessary to remember that system absorption of a mupirotsin increases at disturbance of integrity of integuments.
Long use of ointment can cause the overgrowth of microorganisms, insensitive to a mupirotsin.

Conditions and periods of storage
Medicine should be stored in the place unavailable to children at a temperature not above 25 °C.
