Barboval
Application instruction:
Barboval – sedative and a hypnagogue, a myotropic spasmolysant.
Form of release and structure
Barboval release in the form of drops for intake: the colourless transparent liquid possessing a fragrant specific smell (in bottles of dark glass on 25, 30, 50 ml).
1 ml of solution includes the main active ingredients:
- Etilbromizovalerianat of-18 mg;
- Left menthol (solution in mentit isovalerate) – 80 mg;
- Phenobarbital – 17 mg.
Excipients: sodium acetate trihydrate, alcohol the rectified (ethanol), water cleared.
Indications to use
Drug soothingly influences the central nervous system, possesses vasodilating and moderate spasmolytic actions, allows to reduce a meteorism and to relax smooth muscles, and also to slow down a peristaltics of a stomach and intestines.
Thanks to such influence on an organism Barboval's use is appointed in the following cases:
- Sleeplessness, hysteria, the irritability accompanying neurosises;
- Sinus tachycardia, arterial hypertension of the first stage, easy attacks of stenocardia;
- Enterospasms and stomach, meteorism.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any components of drug;
- Heavy liver and/or renal failure;
- Alcohol addiction;
- Craniocereberal injury or diseases of a brain;
- Age up to 18 years;
- Pregnancy and lactation.
Route of administration and dosage
Barboval it is necessary to accept orally.
Single dose the adult – 10-15 drops, frequency rate of receptions – 2-3 times a day before food (in 20-30 minutes). Drug needs to be accepted with a small amount of water or to place under language, previously having dropped means on a sugar piece.
More exact dosage and duration of treatment is defined by the attending physician. For achievement of the best effect in 10-15 days of a break the course of treatment can be renewed.
Side effects
In rare instances and at overdose there can be dacryagogue, dizziness, nausea, drowsiness. These undesirable phenomena pass after cancellation of medicine or reduction of a dose.
Special instructions
In pediatric practice there is no experience of use of Barboval therefore it is not used for treatment of children.
Contained in solution phenobarbital and 62% ethanol are capable to cause disturbance of speed of psychomotor reactions and coordination in this connection drivers of motor transport need to be careful at administration of drug, to persons working with mechanisms.
