Doksazozin

Doksazozin – drug with hypolipidemic, hypotensive, spasmolytic and vasodilating action.

Form of release and structure

Doksazozin release in the form of tablets: from white with a grayish and cream shade till white color (on 7, 10, 14, 20, 25, 30, 50 pieces in blister strip packagings, on 1-5 packagings in a cardboard pack; on 10, 14, 20, 28, 30, 50, 100 pieces in banks or bottles, after 1 bank or to a bottle in a cardboard pack).

Is a part of 1 tablet:

• Active agent: доксазозин – 1, 2 or 4 mg (in the form of a mezilat);
• Auxiliary components: milk sugar, sodium glycollate, starch, stearate magnesium, microcrystallic cellulose, sodium lauryl sulfate.

Indications to use

• Arterial hypertension (as monotherapy or along with other anti-hypertensive drugs: beta adrenoblockers, thiazide diuretics, inhibitors of an angiotensin-converting enzyme or blockers of calcium channels);
• Benign hyperplasia of a prostate (with a normal arterial pressure and in the presence of arterial hypertension).

Contraindications

• Age up to 18 years;
• Pregnancy and period of a lactation;
• Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Doksazozin it is necessary to take with caution at the following diseases / states:

• The fluid lungs caused by a mitral or aortal stenosis;
• Insufficiency of a left ventricle with low filling pressure;
• The insufficiency of a right ventricle of heart caused by an exudate in a cavity of a pericardium or an embolism of lungs;
• Insufficiency of cordial emission.

Extra care is demanded by purpose of drug at functional disturbances of a liver when the drugs capable to exert negative impact on function of a liver are at the same time used. At deterioration in indicators of a functional condition of a liver Doksazozin it is necessary to cancel immediately.

Route of administration and dosage

Doksazozin accept inside, irrespective of meal. Tablets it is necessary, without chewing, to wash down with enough water.

Drug is accepted once a day (in morning or evening). The daily dose is defined by indications:

• Arterial hypertension: the dose can vary from 1 (initial) to 16 mg (maximum). The initial dose is recommended to be accepted before going to bed. After administration of drug of the patient for 6-8 hours has to be in a bed (because of possible development of the phenomenon of "the first dose" which is especially expressed later the previous reception of diuretics). In 7-14 days of continuous treatment, in case of insufficiency of therapeutic effect, increase in a daily dose is possible twice. If necessary through the same interval of time it is possible to raise a dose on 2 mg, and so to achievement of optimum therapeutic effect. Further, after achievement of lasting therapeutic effect, the daily dose is usually lowered (at a maintenance therapy the average therapeutic daily dose makes 2-4 mg);
• Benign hyperplasia of a prostate without arterial hypertension: from 2-4 (usually) to 8 mg (as much as possible) in day.

Side effects

During therapy, especially at the beginning, orthostatic hypotension which in some cases can lead to faints most often develops. For prevention of emergence of this disturbance it is recommended to avoid sharp and unexpected changes of position of a body (transition to a standing position from a prone position).

Besides, at Doksazozin's reception can be noted: nausea, dizziness, headache, general feeling of weakness, drowsiness, increased fatigue and rhinitis. At patients with arterial hypertension can sometimes arise: arrhythmia, tachycardia, stethalgia, myocardial infarction, stenocardia attacks, cerebrovascular disturbances.

Also isolated cases of development of allergic reactions (jaundice, skin rash, increase in level of transaminases, a Werlhof's disease), nasal bleedings, dryness in a mouth, a priapism, incontiences of urine, a lock, increase in appetite, increase in a diuresis, arthralgias and mialgiya were celebrated.

Special instructions

Alcohol strengthens undesirable reactions.

At the beginning of therapy or during increase in a daily dose it is reasonable to abstain from performance of all potentially dangerous types of works, in particular, from driving and other vehicles and mechanisms.

Medicinal interaction

At simultaneous use of Doksazozin with some medicines there can be undesirable effects:

• Anti-hypertensive means: strengthening of hypotensive effect;
• Inductors of a microsomal oxidation in a liver: increase in effect of a doksazozin is possible;
• Inhibitors of a microsomal oxidation in a liver: decrease in effect of a doksazozin is possible;
• Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (especially indometacin), sympathomimetic means and estrogen: decrease in hypotensive action;
• Ephedrine: decrease in pressor effect;
• Epinephrinum: along with elimination alpha адреностимулирующих effects development of a perversion of its pressor action and tachycardia is possible.

Doksazozin is compatible to furosemide, thiazide diuretics, blockers of calcium channels, beta adrenoblockers, inhibitors of an angiotensin-converting enzyme, peroral hypoglycemic means, antibiotics, uricosuric means and indirect anticoagulants.

Terms and storage conditions

To store in protected from light, the place, dry, unavailable to children, at a temperature of 5-25 °C.

Period of validity – 2 years.
