Фарматекс – vaginal contraceptive means with spermicidal action.

Pharmacological action

Active component of Pharmateks, being spermitsidy and an antiseptic agent at the same time, destroys membranes of spermatozoa, having contraceptive effect.

Pharmateks's use according to the instruction considerably reduces risk of emergence of pregnancy, but completely does not eliminate it. At the same time its efficiency considerably depends on correctness of use.

Active component of Pharmateks according to the instruction is active concerning many activators capable to cause a number of diseases which are transmitted sexually. More it belongs to HIV, Chlamydia spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Staphylococcus aureus, Trichomonas vaginalis and Herpes simplex type 2.

Фарматекс Candida albicans, Gardnerella vaginalis and Treponema pallidum is poorly active concerning Haemophilus ducreyi, and does not show activity concerning Mycoplasma spp.

Vaginal tablets of Pharmateks should be entered deeply into a vagina lying on spin. The drug according to the instruction needs to be administered in 10 minutes prior to sexual intercourse. Vaginal capsules and suppositories of Pharmateks apply as well as tablets. Action duration – four hours.

Vaginal tampons of Pharmateks enter up to contact with a neck of uterus. The protective effect from use of tampons of Pharmateks occurs immediately and proceeds for days irrespective of the number of sexual intercourses. After the last sexual intercourse it is possible to remove a tampon from a vagina in two hours, but no later than in a day after introduction.

Cream of Pharmateks is entered by means of the portioning device installed on the end of a tube. • With the drug administered in a vagina in any dosage form it is impossible to take baths, as well as to swim in the pool, the sea or reservoirs.

Medicinal interaction

As any medicine which is locally entered into a vagina can lower and even completely to inactivate spermicidal action of Pharmateks, it is not necessary to use drug with other means applied vaginalno.

Besides, at Pharmateks's use it is necessary to consider that its properties collapse under the influence of soap and even its traces.

Side effects

According to Pharmateks can cause allergic reactions (in the form of burning, an itch or contact dermatitis) at which emergence use of means needs to be stopped.
