Glidiab

Glidiab – derivative generation sulphonylurea II, peroral hypoglycemic drug.

Form of release and structure

Dosage form – tablets: a ploskotsilindrichesky form, color, white or white with a cream or yellowish shade, with a facet (on 10 pieces in packagings of planimetric cell, 6 packagings in a pack cardboard).

Active ingredient: gliclazide, in 1 tablet – 80 mg.

Additional components: gipromelloza, potato starch, sodium carboxymethylstarch, talc, lactoses monohydrate, magnesium stearate, cellulose microcrystallic.

Indications to use

Glidiab – drug for treatment of a non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (2 types). It is applied in combination with a dietotherapy and moderate exercise stresses at their inefficiency as the main means of fight against a disease.

Contraindications

Absolute:

• Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (1 type);
• Diabetic ketoacidosis, prekoma and coma;
• Giperosmolyarny coma;
• Heavy renal/liver failure;
• The states which are followed by disturbance of absorption of food and development of a hypoglycemia (including stomach paresis, intestinal impassability, infectious diseases);
• Leukopenia;
• The states demanding performing insulin therapy, including an injury, extensive burns and surgical interventions;
• Pregnancy and lactation;
• Individual hypersensitivity to drug components.

Glidiab it is necessary to apply with care at the diseases of a thyroid gland which are followed by disturbance of its function at alcoholism, a feverish syndrome.

Route of administration and dosage

Drug should be accepted inside in 30-60 minutes prior to meal 2 times a day, in the morning and in the evening.

Doses are selected individually for each patient depending on his age, and also clinical displays of the disease and level of a glycemia determined on an empty stomach and 2 hours later after food.

At the beginning of therapy appoint 80 mg a day. The average therapeutic daily dose makes 160 mg, the most admissible – 320 mg.

Side effects

• Endocrine system: a hypoglycemia (at an inadequate diet and disturbance of the mode of dosing) – irritability, uneasiness, a carelessness, aggression, impossibility to concentrate, the slowed-down reaction, sharp weakness, a depression, feeling of fatigue, a headache, a tremor, aphasia, dizziness, feeling of helplessness, a vision disorder, self-checking loss, a hypersomnia, touch frustration, feeling of hunger, a loss of consciousness, spasms, perspiration, shallow breathing, a delirium, bradycardia;
• Alimentary system: dyspepsia (feeling of weight in epigastriums, diarrhea, nausea), abnormal liver functions (increase in activity of hepatic transaminases, cholestatic jaundice), anorexia (its expressiveness decreases at administration of drug during food);
• System of a hemopoiesis: thrombocytopenia, anemia, leukopenia;
• Allergic reactions: urticaria, itch, makulopapulezny rash.

Special instructions

Low-calorie diet with the small content of carbohydrates – an indispensable condition of successful treatment by Glidiab.

During therapy it is regularly necessary to control glycemia level on an empty stomach and after food.

Patients have to mean that starvation, the use of alcoholic beverages and reception of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs – risk factors of development of a hypoglycemia. At alcohol intake, besides, development of disulfiramopodobny reaction, the shown abdominal pain, a headache, nausea and vomiting is possible.

The elderly and weakened people, and patients who are not receiving the balanced food and suffering from pituitary and adrenal insufficiency are especially sensitive to effect of hypoglycemic drugs.

At change of a diet, an emotional or physical overstrain dose adjustment of Glidiab can be required.

At a decompensation of a diabetes mellitus and need of carrying out surgical interventions temporary transfer of the patient on insulin can be required.

To the patients inclined to development of a hypoglycemia, during selection of a dose it is recommended to refrain from occupations potentially dangerous types of activity demanding the speed of reactions and special attention including from control of vehicles.

Medicinal interaction

At simultaneous use of the following drugs strengthening of hypoglycemic action of Glidiab is noted: angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (enalapril, captopril), blockers histamine _{H2 receptors} (Cimetidinum), non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (indometacin, phenylbutazone, diclofenac), antifungal drugs (флуконазол, Miconazolum), antituberculous remedies (Etioniamidum), beta adrenoblockers, indirect anticoagulants of a coumarinic row, fibrata (безафибрат, Clofibratum), the anabolic steroids, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, streptocides of the prolonged action blocking canalicular secretion drugs, salicylates, пентоксифиллин, fluoxetine, фенфлурамин, chloramphenicol, cyclophosphamide, theophylline, гуанетидин, Reserpinum, Disopyramidum, Allopyrinolum, a pyridoxine, Bromocriptinum, other hypoglycemic drugs (guanyl guanidines, acarbose, insulin), ethanol and etanolsoderzhashchy means.

At simultaneous use of the following drugs reduction of hypoglycemic action of Glidiab is noted: barbiturates, glucocorticosteroids, blockers of slow calcium channels, thiazide diuretics, sympathomimetics (a clonidine, Epinephrinum, Ritodrinum, тербуталин, salbutamol), inhibitors of a karboangidraza (acetazoleamide), hormones of a thyroid gland, are oestrogenic also estrogensoderzhashchy oral contraceptives, Phenytoinum, Triamterenum, furosemide, Baclofenum, an isoniazid, diazoxide, даназол, asparaginase, Chlortalidonum, a glucagon, morphine, rifampicin, lithium salts, niacin in high doses, Chlorpromazinum.

Reserpinum, clonidine, гуанетидин and beta adrenoblockers can mask clinical manifestations of a hypoglycemia.

At the patients receiving cardiac glycosides, Glidiab increases risk of development of ventricular premature ventricular contraction.

At interaction of gliclazide with ethanol development of disulfiramopodobny reaction is possible.

Terms and storage conditions

To store at a temperature up to 25 °C in the dry, dark place unavailable to children.

Period of validity – 4 years.
