Kenalogum – hormonal drug.

Pharmacological action

Kenalogum – synthetic means from group of glyukokortikosterod.

Its active ingredient – Triamcinolonum, rendering immunodepressive, antiallergic, antiinflammatory effect. Difference of Triamcinolonum from other system drugs, similar in action, that it suppresses development in a corticotropin hypophysis does not influence water-salt balance, liquid, sodium in an organism does not detain. There are responses about Kenalogum, that its diabetogenic effect is insignificant.

Kenalogum reduces the level of proteolytic enzymes in the place of an inflammation, stopping thus inflammatory process, suppresses emergence of antibodies, lowers release and secretion of allergic mediators.

Release form

The medicine Kenalogum is released in different dosage forms that allows to pick up the optimum scheme of treatment: the tablets Kenalogum with the maintenance of 4 mg of Triamcinolonum and Kenalog40 in the form of suspension for pricks in ampoules.

Indications to use

According to the instruction Kenalogum is appointed at: hay fever, chronic diseases of the respiratory tracts which are followed by obstruction (in cases when topical treatment did not bring result), at allergic general and skin diseases, including allergic rhinitises, dermatitis, urticaria, conjunctivitis, psoriasis, neurodermatitis, eczematoid and atopic dermatitis.

Good responses about Kenalogum, applied in treatment of insufficiency of adrenal glands, oncological diseases of blood, a prostate.

Suspension (Kenalogum in ampoules) is entered vnutrisustavno at such diseases: arthritises, arthroses, dysfunctions of a bag joint, joint edema.

Application instruction of Kenalogum

It is desirable to take the medicine Kenalogum in tablets in the morning.

The dosage to 16 mg is drunk for once, and the dose exceeding 16 mg is accepted for several times.

Adults begin treatment with a dose 4-32mg. Patients for whom the chronic leukosis is diagnosed can accept the daily dose raised to 75 mg Kenalogum. At emergence of side effects the quantity of the accepted Kenalogum is gradually lowered – on 1-2mg each three days.

Children after 6 l accept Kenalogum according to the instruction - 0,1-0,5mg on kg a day. The turned-out dosage can be accepted for once, it is possible to divide into several receptions. The dose, admissible for children, – is no more than 14 mg.

Kenalogum 40 (suspension) cannot be pricked intravenously, only intramusculary, vnutrisustavno. Enter usually 40 mg of drug (one ampoule Kenalogum), only in isolated cases if necessary it is allowed to enter 80 mg of means. For children to 12 l the dosage Kenalogum 40 is also calculated proceeding from weight: 0,03-0,2mg on kilogram a day.

For prevention of allergic seasonal diseases to children after 12 l and adult appoint 40 mg of Kenalogum in ampoules one р / year.

If Kenalogum needs to be entered repeatedly, it is done not earlier than through 2-4ned.

Apply to intra joint introduction 10-40mg Kenalogum 40 for once. Sticking Kenalogum in different joints, it is necessary to watch that the volume of the administered drug did not exceed 80 mg. Repeatedly the injection is entered through 3-4ned (if it is necessary).

Side effects

There are responses about Kenalogum saying that after its use there were such side effects: disturbances of digestion, appetite, function of a pancreas, emergence of an ulcer of a GIT, nausea, a meteorism, vomiting, disturbances of a heart rhythm, the raised thrombogenesis, hypertensia, increase in coagulability of blood, a depression, dizziness, a sleep disorder, nervous breakdowns, a headache, paranoia, irritability, a tremor, increase in intracranial pressure, a spasm, disturbance of space orientation, psychosis.

Also the medicine Kenalogum can cause increase in weight, deterioration in production of endogenous hormones adrenal glands, digestion of glucose, emergence of rash acne, extensions, a nevus pigmentosus, a petechia, bad healing of wounds, a delay of sexual development and growth in children, an Icenco-Cushing syndrome. After the drug Kenalogum the cataract can develop, change an eye cornea, raise pressure in an eye, go down the level of potassium and calcium, to increase sodium level in blood, to appear a muscular atrophy, a necrosis of a bone tissue, osteoporosis.

Because of intolerance allergic skin reactions can develop: itch, urticaria. To the drug Kenalogum, Kenalogum 40 the withdrawal is characteristic.

In ampoules which is entered in the form of injections numbness, pain, burning, formation of hems can cause Kenalogum.

Contraindications to use of Kenalogum

According to the instruction Kenalogum is contraindicated at individual sensitivity to means, children to 6 l, during a lactation, pregnancy, at peptic ulcers of a GIT, at diseases of bones, at severe injuries, operations, at glaucoma, a diabetes mellitus, the increased tendency to formation of blood clots, to discovery of bleedings.

It is impossible to accept Kenalogum, Kenalogum 40 along with anticoagulants, at an Icenco-Cushing syndrome, with care appoint means to elderly patients, those in whom liver pathologies, are found by the suffering hyperthyroidism, a lipidemia, at disturbances of cordial function, epilepsy, obesity, in immunodeficiency.
