Lidevin

Lidevin – the drug intended for treatment of alcohol addiction.

Form of release and structure

Lidevin is issued in the form of tablets: ploskotsilindrichesky, round, color, white with a creamy shade (impregnations), with a facet, with crosswise risky on one of the parties (on 10 pieces in the blister, in a pack cardboard 2 blisters are possible).

The active agents which are contained in 1 tablet:

• Disulfiramum – 500 mg;
• Adenine _{(B4 vitamin)} – 0,5 mg;
• Niacinamide _{(B3 vitamin)} – 0,3 mg.

Additional components: povidone, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, cellulose microcrystallic, magnesium stearate.

Indications to use

Lidevin is applied to treatment of an alcoholism and preventive therapy for the purpose of the prevention of a recurrence of a disease.

Contraindications

Absolute:

• Malignant new growths;
• Optic neuritis;
• Glaucoma;
• Neuritis of an acoustical nerve;
• Dekompensirovanny cardiovascular diseases;
• Diabetes mellitus;
• Hemopoiesis disturbances;
• Thyrotoxicosis;
• Bronchial asthma;
• Pulmonary tuberculosis;
• Emphysema of lungs;
• Diseases of kidneys;
• Heavy liver failure;
• Aggravation of a peptic ulcer of a stomach;
• Polyneuritis of various etiology;
• Mental diseases;
• Convulsive syndrome of any origin, epilepsy;
• Pregnancy;
• Hypersensitivity to Lidevin's components.

Relative:

• Peptic ulcer of a stomach and 12-perstny gut in a remission stage;
• Cardiovascular diseases in compensation stage;
• Existence of the residual phenomena after disturbance of cerebral circulation;
• Antabusny (disulfiramovy) psychoses in the anamnesis;
• Hypothyroidism (especially in case of risk of a combination of Lidevin to alcohol);
• The age is more senior than 60 years.

Route of administration and dosage

Lidevin accept inside.

The single dose makes 125-500 mg (calculation for Disulfiramum), frequency rate of reception – 2 times a day.

7-10 days of treatment later carry out disulfiramalkogolny test (to the patient after 500 mg of Lidevin give 20-30 ml of 40% of vodka). If reaction weak, the dose of alcohol is increased by 10-20 ml, the most admissible dose – 100-120 ml of vodka. Repeated test is carried out in 1-2 days in a hospital and 3-5 days later on an outpatient basis, depending on result adjust a dose of drug and/or alcohol.

After the main treatment Lidevin it is possible to apply in the maintenance dose making 125-200 mg/days within 1-3 years.

Side effects

• The reactions caused by action of Disulfiramum: headaches, a memory impairment, an adynamy, confusion of consciousness, skin allergic reactions, an optic neuritis, a polyneuropathy of the lower extremities, metal smack in a mouth, at patients from kolostomy – an unpleasant smell; in some cases (at the patients with nickel eczema who are not suffering from an alcoholism) – hepatitis;
• The reactions caused by interaction of Disulfiramum with alcohol: arrhythmia, stenocardia attacks; seldom – neurologic frustration, a myocardial infarction; in isolated cases – wet brain, a cardiovascular collapse, respiratory insufficiency;
• The reactions caused by long reception of Lidevin: seldom – gastritis, hepatitis, psychoses (remind alcoholic), and also an aggravation of a polyneuritis and fibrinferments of vessels of a brain (at patients with diseases of cardiovascular system).

At the use of more than 50-80 ml of 40% of vodka there is a risk of development of hypostases, spasms, heavy disturbances of functions of respiratory and cardiovascular systems. In this case urgent introduction of analeptics, performing disintoxication therapy and additional symptomatic is shown if there is a need.

Special instructions

Lidevin can be appointed only after careful inspection of the patient and the warning of possible complications and effects of the carried-out therapy in case of alcohol intake or reception of etanolsoderzhashchy medicines.

Medicinal interaction

Lidevin it is contraindicated to accept along with the alcohol and medicines containing ethanol since it is fraught with development of reaction of intolerance, the shown inflows, vomiting, tachycardia, an erythema.

It is undesirable to appoint Lidevin in a combination with the following drugs:

• Isoniazid: the probability of a lack of coordination of movements and behavior is high;
• Means from group of derivatives of a nitro-5-imidazole (орнидазол, metronidazole, Tinidazolum, секнидазол): risk of development of delirious frustration and confusion of consciousness;
• Phenytoinum: development of its toxic effects is possible.

The combinations demanding care and, perhaps, corrections of doses:

• Theophylline: delay of its biotransformation;
• Benzodiazepines: strengthening of sedation;
• Warfarin and other peroral anticoagulants: risk of development of bleedings;
• Tricyclic antidepressants: strengthening of reactions of intolerance of alcohol, especially at patients who during treatment by Lidevin take alcoholic drinks.

Terms and storage conditions

To store at a temperature not above 25 °C. To protect from children.

Period of validity – 3 years.
