Methyluracil

Methyluracil – the medicine activating a metabolism in fabrics and stimulating regeneration process.

Form of release and structure

Methyluracil is produced in three dosage forms:

• Tablets: white, ploskotsilindrichesky, round, with risky and a facet (in planimetric bezjyacheykovy and strip packagings on 10 pieces, on 5 packagings in a cardboard pack);
• Ointment for topical and external use of 10% (on 25, 30 g in aluminum tubas, on 1 tuba in a cardboard pack; on 15, 25, 30, 50, 75 g in banks, after 1 bank in a cardboard pack);
• Suppositories for rectal use (on 5 pieces in blister strip packagings, on 1 or 2 packagings in a cardboard pack).

Is a part of 1 tablet:

• Active ingredient: methyluracil (in the form of a dioxomethyltetrahydropyrimidine) – 500 mg;
• Auxiliary components: potato starch – 130 mg, K30 povidone – 49 mg, calcium stearate – 7 mg, talc – 14 mg.

For topical and external use enters into structure of 100 mg of ointment:

• Active ingredient: methyluracil – 10 mg;
• Auxiliary component: an ointment basis (water lanolin, medical vaseline) – to 100 mg.

Is a part of 1 rectal suppository:

• Active ingredient: methyluracil – 500 mg;
• Auxiliary component: a basis for suppositories – the quantity sufficient for receiving suppository weighing 2190-2410 mg.

Indications to use

Tablets:

• Leukopenia (at an easy current, including cases when the disease developed because of chemotherapy of malignant new growths, carrying out rentgeno-and radiation therapy);
• Radial illness;
• Peptic ulcer of a stomach and duodenum (along with other drugs);
• Agranulocytic quinsy;
• Alimentary and toxic aleukia;
• Thrombocytopenia;
• Anemia;
• Intoxication benzene;
• Pancreatitis;
• Hepatitis;
• Fractures of bones;
• Burns, vyalozazhivayushchy wounds;
• Reconvalescence (after the postponed heavy infections).

Ointment for topical and external use:
Methyluracil is appointed as the epithelizing means at treatment of wounds, burns, photodermatoses, dermatitis, decubituses, an intertrigo, abscesses, furuncles.

Suppositories for rectal use:

• Proctosigmoiditis, erosive and ulcer colitis, anal fissures;
• Local damages of female generative organs, and also beam damages of a large and sigmoid intestine, beam cystitis and colpitis (treatment and prevention).

Contraindications

Tablets:

• Malignant new growths of marrow;
• Leukosis (leukemic forms, in particular myeloid);
• Hemoblastoses;
• Lymphogranulomatosis;
• Age up to 3 years;
• Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Pregnant women and the feeding women can accept Methyluracil only after assessment by the doctor of a ratio of advantage for health of mother with possible risk for a fruit and the child.

Ointment for topical and external use:
Contraindication to use of Methyluracil is hypersensitivity to drug components.

Suppositories for rectal use:

• Leukemic forms of a leukosis (acute and chronic);
• Malignant new growths of digestive tract;
• Lymphogranulomatosis;
• Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Route of administration and dosage

Tablets:
Methyluracil is accepted inside, it is more preferable – in time or after meal.

Drug is appointed depending on age:

• Adults: 4 times a day on 500 mg (increase in frequency rate of use up to 6 times a day is possible), the maximum dose – 3000 mg a day;
• Children of 8-14 years: 3 times a day on 250-500 mg, the maximum dose – 1500 mg a day;
• Children of 3-8 years: 3 times a day on 250 mg, the maximum dose – 750 mg a day.

Course duration at treatment of diseases of bodies of digestive tract – from 30 to 40 days, at other indications is possible less long therapy.

Ointment for topical and external use:
Methyluracil is applied on the damaged sites with a thin layer, a single dose – 5-20 g. Drug is used daily a course of 15-30 days. In friable tampons drug is used at a radioepithelitis and late radiation injuries of a vagina.

At treatment of acute violent beam dermatitis, burns, ulcers and wounds Methyluracil is applied locally, perhaps simultaneous use with outside applications of streptocides, antibiotic and antiseptic drugs.

Suppositories for rectal use:
Drug is appointed depending on age:

• Adults: 1-4 times a day on 1-2 suppositories;
• Children of 8-15 years: 1 suppository a day;
• Children of 3-8 years: 1/2 suppositories a day.

Depending on indications duration of use of medicine can vary from 1 week to 4 months.

Side effects

At Methyluracil reception inside can arise: headache, allergic reactions, heartburn, dizziness.

At topical and external use of drug in extremely exceptional cases development of a hyperemia and an itch is possible.

Probable side effects at rectal use of Methyluracil in the instruction are not described.

Special instructions

Methyluracil is, as a rule, effective at treatment only of an easy form of a leukopenia.

Medicinal interaction

At simultaneous use with Cystaminum Methyluracil strengthens its antiactinic action.

Terms and storage conditions

To store in protected from light, the place, dry, unavailable to children.

Period of validity:

• Tablets – 5 years at a temperature up to 25 °C;
• Ointment for topical and external use – 3 years and 6 months at a temperature up to 20 °C;
• Suppositories for rectal use – 2 years at a temperature up to 25 °C.
