Urethra at women

Urethra length at women makes about 3,0 - 3,5 cm. It begins from a bladder and represents the hollow slightly curved tube which is bending around behind and from below pubic a symphysis. The back wall of an urethra at women is rather closely connected to a front wall of a vagina. Out of the period of passing across this canal of urine of its wall densely adjoin to each other, interfering thereby with hit of an infection in a bladder cavity. However walls of a female urethra have good distensibility, and its gleam can be stretched to 10 mm.

Urethra at men

At men the urethra is not only body of an urinary, but also reproductive system. In this regard the urethra at men has more complex structure. Its length makes 20 – 25 cm and in it allocate three parts:

1. A prostatic part – begins from an internal opening of a bladder and penetrates a prostate. Its length is about 4 cm. On each side this part of an urethra at men mouths of ejaculatory channels are located;

2. A webby part – the shortest and narrow part of a male urethra. Its length does not exceed 2,0 cm;

3. A spongy part – the longest part of an urethra at men having length from 17 to 20 cm. In a back wall of a spongy part of an urethra channels of bulbouretralny glands open.

On all extent of an urethra there are numerous longitudinal folds of a mucous membrane causing increase in a gleam of the channel at the time of an urination and an ejaculation.

Urethra inflammation

The inflammation of an urethra is called an urethritis. Uretrita are subdivided on infectious and noninfectious. The infectious inflammation of an urethra is caused specific (gardnerella, chlamydias, gonokokk, etc.) and nonspecific (streptococci, colibacillus, staphylococcus, etc.) by microflora. The urethritis of the noninfectious nature develops as a result of traumatic damages of walls of an urethra when passing uric concrements or when performing catheterization, tsistoskopiya. The allergy and congestive processes in a small pelvis can be other reasons of development of a noninfectious inflammation of an urethra.

The first sign of an urethritis is the burning sensation in an urethra which sharply amplifies at the time of an urination. In addition there are allocations from an urethra having mucopurulent character. The symptomatology of an urethritis is more expressed at men, and at women the disease proceeds with the low-expressed symptoms, and quite often and in general asymptomatically.

Allocations from an urethra

Many people at the time of the expressed sexual excitement from an urethra can have a small amount of colourless slime. Such allocations from an urethra are considered as one of norm options. Emergence of all other allocations is one of symptoms of diseases of urinogenital system:

  • Purulent discharges – are usually observed at uretrita of infectious character and are followed by burning in an urethra. Outward and the number of these allocations in many respects are defined by a type of the activator. At a gonorrheal urethritis of allocation slivkoobrazny, chartreuse color and rather plentiful. At allocation trichomoniasis usually foamy and scanty.
  • Urethremorrhagia – allocation from an urethra out of a blood urination. Most often results from a mechanical injury of an urethra, but also can be one of symptoms of malignant new growths of bodies of urinogenital system.
  • Spermatorrhea – allocations of a small amount of sperm at the end of the act of defecation or an urination in the absence of an erection and an orgasm. The spermatorrhea is a symptom of such diseases as a colliculitis and a vesiculitis (an inflammation of a seminal hillock and seed bubbles). At severe injuries of a spinal cord and at meningitis the spermatorrhea can have constant character.
  • Prostatorrhea – release of juice of a prostate at the end of defecation or an urination and not followed by burning sensation in an urethra. By the outward juice of a prostate is similar to sperm, and it is possible to distinguish them only by laboratory methods. The prostatorrhea is observed at chronic prostatitis and an inflammation of output channels of a prostate.
