Novalgin

Novalgin – the combined analgetic antipyretic.

Form of release and structure

Drug is produced in tablets (on 6 pieces in the blister, in a cardboard pack 1 blister; on 12 pieces in the blister, in a cardboard pack 1 or 2 blisters; on 30 pieces in polymeric containers, in a cardboard pack 1 container).

Active agents in 1 tablet:

• Propyphenazone – 200 mg;
• Paracetamol – 200 mg;
• Caffeine – 50 mg.

Indications to use

• Pain syndrome of weak and moderate expressiveness of various genesis: tooth and headache, migraine, mialgiya, arthralgias;
• Weak and moderate pain syndrome at primary dysmenorrhea (on condition of lack of organic changes from generative organs);
• Feverish syndrome.

Contraindications

Absolute (Novalgin's use is strictly contraindicated):

• Acute hematoporphyria;
• Oppression of a marrowy hemopoiesis (leukopenia and anemia, including hemolitic);
• Deficit glyukozo-6-fosfatdegidrogenazy;
• Heavy liver and/or renal failure;
• The states which are followed by respiratory depression;
• Acute myocardial infarction;
• Intracranial hypertensia;
• Arrhythmias, arterial hypertension;
• Lactose intolerance;
• Deficit of lactase;
• Glyukozo-galaktozny malabsorption;
• Glaucoma;
• Alcoholic intoxication;
• Full or incomplete combination of bronchial asthma with recuring polipozy a nose / околоносовых bosoms and intolerance of acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (including in the anamnesis);
• Children's age up to 12 years;
• Pregnancy and lactation;
• Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Relative (it is necessary to apply Novalgin with extra care because of risk of development of complications):

• Moderate dysfunctions of kidneys/liver;
• Peptic ulcer of a stomach and 12-perstny gut in an aggravation stage;
• Bronchial asthma;
• Advanced age.

Route of administration and dosage

Novalgin it is necessary to accept inside after food, washing down with enough liquid.

The recommended doses:

• Adults: on 1-2 tablet 1-4 times a day, the most admissible daily dose – 6 tablets;
• Teenagers of 12-18 years: on 1 tablet to 3 times a day.

Duration of administration of drug depends on the purpose: for decrease in the increased body temperature – up to 3 days, for stopping of a pain syndrome – up to 5 days.

Side effects

• Heart consciousness;
• Sleep disorders;
• Dizziness;
• Nausea and/or vomiting;
• Unpleasant feelings and weight in a stomach;
• Methemoglobinemia;
• Agranulocytosis;
• Hemolitic anemia;
• Leukopenia;
• Allergic reactions.

Special instructions

During treatment it is recommended:

• To refuse the use of alcoholic beverages (as the risk of development of acute pancreatitis and intoxication increases);
• Not to abuse kofeinsoderzhashchy drinks and products (as emergence of symptoms of overdose of caffeine is possible);
• To be careful during the driving of the car and occupation other types of activity demanding speed of reactions and the increased concentration of attention.

Medicinal interaction

Antidepressants, m-holinoblokatory and Colestyraminum can reduce absorption of components of Novalgin.

Paracetamol reduces action of uricosuric means, and accepted in high doses – increases effect of anticoagulants.

Ethanol, gepatotoksichny means and inductors of microsomal enzymes of a liver increase products of hydroxylated metabolites of paracetamol owing to what the risk of development of heavy intoxications even increases at small overdose.

Miyelotoksichny means strengthen a paracetamol gematotoksichnost.

At simultaneous use of barbiturates during it is long time efficiency of paracetamol decreases.

At interaction with inductors of microsomal enzymes of a liver metabolism amplifies and the clearance of caffeine increases; with inhibitors of microsomal enzymes of a liver – metabolism of caffeine in a liver decreases.

Nicotine increases caffeine removal speed, мексилетин considerably reduces its removal (to 50%).

The high doses of caffeine accepted during use of furasolidone, Procarbazinum, a selegilin or monoamine oxidase inhibitors can cause the expressed increase in arterial pressure and dangerous arrhythmias.

Also it must be kept in mind that caffeine:

• Accelerates removal of drugs of lithium with urine;
• Reduces absorption of drugs of calcium from digestive tract;
• Accelerates absorption and strengthens effect of cardiac glycosides and increases their toxicity;
• Reduces efficiency of hypnotic drugs and drugs;
• Reduces clearance of theophylline and, presumably, other xanthines because of what the risk of development of the additive toxic and pharmakodinamichesky effects increases.

In case of simultaneous use of caffeine from β-adrenomimetika there is a probability of additional stimulation of the central nervous system and development of other additive toxic effects; with β-adrenoblockers - - - - - - - - - – perhaps mutual suppression of therapeutic effects.

Propyphenazone can strengthen ulcerogenic effect of glucocorticosteroids, effect of sulfanamide drugs, peroral hypoglycemic means and anticoagulants; to reduce efficiency of kaliysberegayushchy diuretics.

Terms and storage conditions

To store at a temperature up to 25 ºC. Not to subject to impact of a sunlight. To protect from children.

Period of validity – 3 years.
