Сонапакс – antipsychotic medicine.

Structure and form of release

Сонапакс release in the form of a dragee on 10, 25 and 100 mg containing active agent – thioridazine a hydrochloride of 10, 25 and 100 mg respectively.

Auxiliary components: starch corn, stearic acid, colloid silicon dioxide, talc, lactose, gelatin.

On 60 dragees in a blister strip packaging.

Pharmacological action of Sonapaks

According to the instruction of Sonapaks is antipsychotic medicine. Sonapaks's action is caused by his active agent (thioridazine a hydrochloride) which is to derivatives of a fenotiazin.

Sonapaks's use renders the central and peripheral impact on a nervous system, has weak antidepressive effect, weak antipsychotic and anti-autistic action.

The mechanism of the central action of Sonapaks is caused by ability of active agent to suppress some functions of a brainstem. The mechanism of peripheral action of Sonapaks consists in cholinolytic, α-adrenolytic and antihistaminic effect.

According to Sonapaks does not cause suppression of motor activity, has no antiemetic effect and less often than other neuroleptics provokes extrapyramidal disturbances.

Indications to use

According to the instruction of Sonapaks it is shown in the following cases:

• schizophrenia;
• abstinence syndrome (toxicomania and alcoholism);
• the psychotic frustration causing hyperreactivity and excitement;
• disease of Gentington;
• moderately expressed or heavy depression at adults;
• tic;

Route of administration of Sonapaks and mode of dosing

• 4-7 years – 10-20 mg a day divided into 2-3 receptions;

• 15-18 years – 30-50 mg a day divided into three receptions.

Contraindications to Sonapaks's use

In the instruction to Sonapaks the following contraindications are specified:

• the progressing general diseases back and a brain;

• heavy cardiovascular insufficiency;
• craniocereberal injury;
• diseases of system of blood with hypo - or aplastic processes;
• age up to four years;
• pheochromocytoma;
• ventricular disturbances of a cordial rhythm;
• coma of any genesis;
• porphyria;
• acute depressions;
• pregnancy and breastfeeding;
• the expressed bradycardia;
• heavy arterial hypotension;
• sinuatrial or atrioventricular block of the third degree;
• hypersensitivity to a tioridazol, other derivatives of a fenotiazin or to other component of Sonapaks;
• incurable hypomagnesiemia or hypopotassemia.

Side effects of Sonapaks

According to Sonapaks causes the following by-effects:

• Cardiovascular system: decrease in the ABP, increase of cordial reductions. In high dosages of Sonapaks according to reviews causes lengthening of an interval of Q-T.
