Pharmacological properties of Slabilen

This drug concerns to group of laxative drugs of reflex influence. Active component of Slabilen – sodium пикосульфат. Reaching a large intestine in an invariable look, пикосульфат sodium is exposed to hydrolysis (enzymatic decomposition) microflora there. The active metabolite which makes the main medical impact is as a result formed. It locally irritates the terminations of nerve fibrils of a mucous membrane, causing reflex acceleration of a vermicular movement (reductions of an intestinal wall) thanks to what the aperient effect is reached. Besides, this medicine reduces absorption of water and ions, the volume of intestinal contents and its osmotic pressure increase, and it accelerates a peristaltics too. The result of administration of drug will be swept up when it reaches distal departments of a large intestine, that is later ten - twelve hours after reception.

In blood products of enzymatic decomposition and Slabilen are not soaked up. Medicine is not exposed as well to hepatoenteric recirculation.

Release form

Slabilen produce in the form of drops in bottles with the doser dropper 15 and 30 ml. Accept Slabilen inside.

Indications to Slabilen's use

At a concomitant use with glucocorticosteroids and diuretic disturbances of ionic balance in an organism can develop.

Without medical control Slabilen according to the instruction accept not longer than ten days.

Side effect

Occasionally in cases of use of Slabilen the diarrhea, discomfort in a stomach, loss of excessive amount of liquid, disturbance of water and electrolytic balance, arterial hypotonia, weakness, convulsive reductions of muscles are noted.
