Structure of tequila

Drink origin history

For the first time tequila began to be made in the 16th century, but this drink was traditional in culture of the tribe of Aztecs who called its "otkl" and made from an agave. The Spanish conquistadors mixed otkl and brandy, and later began to make alcoholic drink tequila.

In the 17th century mass production of this drink at special distilleries in the Mexican state of Jalisco began.

In the middle of the 19th century tequila became popular not only in Mexico, but also in other countries of Latin America, and then and in Europe.

In the modern market there are several commodity brands which are engaged in production of this drink and carry out import to various countries of the world. Cabo Wabo, El Tesoro and Ex Hacienda treat the most famous brands.

Types of tequila and drinks on its basis

There are several main types of tequila and ways of its packaging. In a silver container white tequila which is matured by no more than 2 months is made, the Joven tequila which is young drink with addition of fragrances is similar to it.

And qualitative gold tequila which is matured over a year is more sustained. Drink with 3-year endurance is called añejo, and premium class tequila - extra añejo.

It is possible to allocate two main ways of production of tequila:

  • premium at which drink is made of 100% of a blue agave;
  • the standard at which receive the mixed drink with addition of sugar, juice of a blue agave, sacchariferous products, corn syrup.

Different brands and producers use the compoundings of production of tequila at which drink has individual taste and aroma.

Tequila can be used for preparation of other alcoholic beverages, including margarites, sangrita, cocktails with martini, tequilas a boom and dessert drink.

Tequila caloric content

Tequila is drink of average caloric content which should not be included in structure of the dietary menu. Because of the high caloric content of tequila and content of alcohol can the condition of the alimentary system at observance of an electrolyte-deficient diet will worsen.

Caloric content of tequila makes 208 kcal, and also drink contains 0,3 g of proteins, 26,8 g of carbohydrates and 0,06 g of fats.

Useful properties of tequila

Contraindications

Tequila is strong alcoholic drink which is strictly forbidden to be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and also at children's age up to 18 years.

Drink can exert a negative impact on work of a liver and pancreas, digestive organs.

The people managing vehicles and being on treatment of diseases and frustration of mentality cannot take alcoholic drink.

The use of tequila at a serious illness of the alimentary system, serious diseases of a brain, a liver and renal failure, hormonal disturbances, inflammatory processes in internals is not recommended, and also at predisposition to allergic reactions to an agave and alcohol.
