Bogoyavlensky craniotomy

Bogoyavlensky craniotomy (historical; N. V. Bogoyavlensky, domestic doctor; craniotomia, Greek cranion – a skull + Greek tome – a section, a section) – the craniotomy intended for a hypophysis oncotomy over the right frontal lobe consisting in formation of a skin and periosteal and bone rag by means of two cuts – is 2,5 cm higher than the upper edge of an eye-socket in the horizontal direction, before connection with the vertical section passing at distance 2,5 cm from the sagittal line and parallel to it; the created rag is discarded kzad.
